Help with a WSO post?

How do I set the width of an image in a WSO post? When I upload one it is not wide enough and I don't know how to change that.

Thanks,
Tim

I have edited it in Photoshop but no matter what width I set it to it's always the same on the WSO post.

Also, I am using Photobucket for the image hosting.

This seems to be a debate that comes up at times. I set my WSO and WFH images to be 731px in size because it gives a little border, and then I use the center tags around them so the space isn't that noticeable. If you look at the newsletter link in my sig, that entire ad is nothing but one big graphic. You're welcome to right click and download it and use it for a template (size-wise) as long as you don't use it for your own nefarious purposes.

I was going to say 750 pixels because that's the width I create mine. Once you upload it, you can't edit it in a WSO interface. You have to create them the right size. I set my whole page at 750 pixels wide and design on that, but that's only if it's an all graphic WSO page. For individual graphics you want in your WSO, 750 pixels is a good width or a little less wide if you don't want it to span the whole width of the listing.

The problem is no matter what size I make the pictures, they are always too small.

Then I don't know what the problem is. You're uploading them to your own server right and just using the image tag with your url in it?

OK all jokes aside...what software are you using? If you're using PhotoShop, create a new document. Make it 750 pixels wide by 1500 pixels long. That'll give you a nice, long rectangle to work with. Once you're done with it and you have it just how you want it, make sure to save it as both a PDF and PNG file. (PSD so you can edit it later, PNG because you used a transparent background so it would match the Warrior Forum.)

I have a feeling you're not using pixels, but some other form of measurement. Make sure the box right next to the number says pixels.

I'd erase the image before a mod gets mad at you. It's definitely not 750px though. It's a little over 500px. Make sure you're not looking at picas or mm or whatever other choices you have -- I'm not at a comp with PhotoShop on it, but maybe Suzanne take can a quick glance.

Send me the photoshop file to suzbuc AT gmail DOT com and I'll take a look. If it's over a couple of mbs, just upload it somewhere and I'll download it. Just send me the url. Now delete it so it doesn't look like self promotion

The problem is it doesn't fill the full post as it should.

Wanted to see what it does on my host so I kept the width but made it short for this

Just looked ... it fills it perfectly. Has to be something with where you're hosting it.

WoW, I found the real figures to put stuff in WSO, now i will be able to use proper pixels for images

The thread also made me understand how to deal with the posting of exact links of images to deal with equivalence of what i am going to post.

So, since you realised it was a Photobucket issue, what image hosting are you using now?

Make your image 750 px wide, and the forum will automatically align it to look right...

Yes, it is photobucket issue. I also tried it with my WSO and my original 700+ pixels wide picture became 500+. Then I tried Imgur.com and it looks fine.

I was about to tell you - it's against photobucket TOS to be using them for commercial purpose. You should be putting images on your own host and you'll have no problems.
