I'm looking for some new books about business development and strategy to read on my Nook.

What did you enjoy and get good pointers from?

The Lean Startup is a must read. It isn't about Biz Dev. But it is about how to quickly iterate and build a product or service and the exact things to focus on.

A recent book I read is "Brand Against the Machine", by John Morgan. This reading was near and dear to my heart, as the author shows how to stand out from your competition and build lasting connections with your customers. I would recommend it if you want to learn how to accelerate your positioning in the marketplace with a powerful "rage against the traditional forces of advertising". This is one of the best marketing books I have read in a very long time.

This is one I read not that long ago and really enjoyed:

The Long TailThe Long Tail (not an affiliate link) by Chris Anderson (editor of Wired Magazine)

You have probably heard about the book, (or maybe read it already). Its basically about how the internet has changed, and how this change has created a long tail of niche products and offers that on their own might not make much money or be important, but aggregated they add up to a lot.

For most of my online career I have focused on the really big keywords, and I have done well for myself with that strategy. I was of course aware of "the long tail" but this book opened my eyes to the enormous shift that has taken place over the last few years, and how long "the tail" actually is!

"How to Win Friend and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie

Read it from the perspective of a website. Your website is YOU and the friends you're trying to influence and win are your web visitors.

Although it's not necessarily a "business book" per-say... I would recommend:

Mastery: The Keys to Success and Long-Term Fulfillment by George Leonard

Applied to both business and life in general.

Every business owner should have a copy of Jay Abraham's "Getting Everything You Can Out Of All You've Got".
