A lot of us use internet marketing to promote an online business but I wanted to know what we could do to improve business for an offline business?

They need help in many areas: Websites, Facebook fan pages, SEO help, content writing, mobile design, ppc advertising, Google places listing and so much more. There is a offline section for this forum where you will get a ton of info answering this question in extreme detail.

    they all need websites

i don`t like to do any offline work but i do the odd website for people

i charge them around $75 and create them a wordpress blog using a free theme, i get a customized header made and i also host it for them too for free

i did one recently for my gym

i don`t charge much because i don`t often do it but if you wanted to push the service it`s quite easy, just get lots of cards made up, posters and once you do a few websites for people the word will soon get around about your services

They currently have a website, and it can use a little of work on it. And I have a guy that works great on graphics so I am sure I will be able to do that, but I am not sure what else I might be able to offer them. They have a emailing list, I guess I could help with creating emails or maybe create content but I am just not sure what I can do for an offline business.

    Hi

Mobile Websites and Facebook pages are big.
Google Places (or whatever they are calling it now?)
SEO - A lot of businesses want to rank at the top when people search for <city> <business type>
Reputation management - get rid of or mitigate bad reviews on Yelp and other type sites
    Social Marketing

Leads - all of these things are about getting leads (traffic) for the business. So any site or service that can generate leads for a business can get income from offline businesses.

As an example, create a site for citychiropractorappointment.com. Have a big blurb about chiropractors in that city and offer an opt-in for a 'free consultation'.

    On the form collect:

    Name
    Phone
    Email
    Description of problem
    Etc

Then make a deal with a local chiropractor who will pay you in exchange for each lead you send him.

    This works in many niches.

I don't know of any single business, online or offline, that would not benefit from a strong web presence. Even the most local of businesses can benefit from having more of an online presence targeted to their local community.

The way the web has developed, geotargeting is so powerful that it's a joke. The internet has become the new yellowpages and the new classifieds, this is where people look for businesses that offer all (ALL) services. Therefore, if you are a business that offers ANY sort of service or product, you can benefit from being online.

    Best,
