    I have a great personal blog that I love to tend to, but really it's a waste of time for the most part. It's so important to have a focus if you're trying to make money.

    I justify it as being cathartic, but in this business - with all the writing we do... it's probably not a good idea if you are still struggling.

    I would never start a personal blog. Not enough time in the day to do that, do my marketing plan, cook, chill, spend time with my girl, and sleep.

    I think some people start a personal blog for other reasons other than money. Perhaps they just want to be famous, or they're just slightly narcissistic. They think their life is awesome and they want the world to know about it. They might not get money out of it, but they gain some sort of recognition and validation from doing so. I do agree most personal blogs these days are boring, but I could find myself following a personal blog as long as it was fresh and interesting. Look at Tucker Max. He started off blogging about partying and having sex with college girls and now he has his own movie and book out. Chances are you know who Tucker Max is, weather you respect him or not, you've probably at least heard of him, and that's all that little narcissist really wants.
