I don't have any fears to be honest.

    • I try to keep my domain name as safe as possible, and I have to use 3 forms of identification to do anything with it (including passport and 2 security questions I've chosen).
    • I back up everything in a million and one different places. All I would lose is some comments and page views.
    • I use double opt-in and I save my email list every so often.
    • I don't need much to live a chilled out life so a few thousand per month and a tropical country is fine with me.
    • I make more money writing for one client than I did in my last job. If I needed money I could always freelance.
The reason I mention them is because I have purposely set up my business so that I am as safe as possible. I want people to know that if you plan well you can do it too.

I have a blog just now, and soon I want to start building an e-commerce site and a single squeeze page site with autoresponder series.

Even the niches I've chosen and the platforms I use will help reduce risk as they are in growing markets and diversified.

    Be safe people.

My fear was always that people I knew in "real life" would find my IM stuff and I would be ridiculed / ignored.

It sounds kinda stupid, and I've obviously gotten over that now (I use my real name and photo on everything, which didn't start happening until a couple of months ago) but it really petrified me.

I even used aliases on things that nobody but myself would likely ever see, because I was THAT worried. (I even did it on a couple of bills, oddly enough never got in trouble for that).

But, now I shamelessly plug my services in everywhere I go and it's been working amazingly thus far.

      Best,

Even if you don't do this full-time and it's just a hobby, you must be scared about certain things.

Mine - I'm scared that the business I've built, could all just collapse around me and the stuff that I'm doing to make an income, just stops working - so-to-speak.
Mine , not so much of a fear but a reality is that the industry changes so quickly, so consistency is always the game that everyone is working towards.

Its about having enough strong income streams going so when when one drops you are still in business.

    risk it for the biscuit

Ive got my blinkers on when IM is concerned, I'm focused on the end goal and not looking back or thinking twice of putting the hard work in.

I suppose one fear may be failing or losing everything, but I'm working hard to not let this happen

One of my main fears is that I would actually succeed in IM (or anything). The problem is that success is a subjective term, and not matter how well I do, I never think I have succeeded. And on it goes.

Yeah, that seems to be a pretty common one, Darren.

Honestly, I don't mind fear, I think it actually encourages me to get off my butt and do stuff - I certainly would never let a fear hold me back from doing something I've always wanted to do, though.

    Good question,

Given the Google Panda and Penquin attacks, anyone who doesn't fear Google is lost. How much time have you had to spend over the past six months on SEO only to get hammered over and over again. lol

    Success to all,

Best thing you can do in life is to fight your fears. Some people say that fear is good for us and keeps us safe, but that's simply not true in most cases.

Mostly our fears just limit us and hold us back from pushing ourselves to be the best we can be.

In internet marketing particularly, the hardest fear you can overcome is the fear of failure. Also the fear of the unknown. I think the case with many people who keep on reading and learning by reading instead of taking action and learning from their own mistakes is, they are not willing to overcome those fears.

But that's not the way to go. You learn the most by getting into the trenches and actually doing. Even if you have just a bare idea of what you are going to do, just start somewhere. When a question arises, only then purchase an ebook, a course on the given matter or find the information, not the other way around.

    Just my opinion.

Interesting to see that some people actually feared the success.. I think the most common ones must be sales drying up or an algorithm change by the big G - pandas and penguins.

  • My only concern (not fear, but concern) in IM is when I flop 2 or 3 projects in a row. It gets scary cause you think "have I lost my touch?". It has has happened to me a few times and it is always unsettling.

My biggest fear in IM is that I want to do this for a living, but if it were to collapse (or if Google bought the rest of the internet ) that I would be out of a job. Since I really don't want to settle with the average cubicle job, I want this to work. People around me are always throwing doubts in my face when I say I want to do this full time, maybe my whole life. My fear is not what people's opinions are, but that things could change to make this way of living nearly impossible for the average marketer.

The thing with IM, methods come and go.

My biggest fear is not being able to do this in 5 years time.

So I've changed my goals and I'm beginning to build a real business from the ground up.

My greatest fear is if i wont be able to manage my time with IM properly and loose everything in just a snap of a finger. But i always tell myself that never to loose hope always keep on believing that everything will be okay and would be able to find solution to whatever problems may come.

Clowns. My biggest fear is clowns...

But next to that, I worry that I will procrastinate until the 'window of opportunity' for IM is passed. I know that's unlikely to happen, given the size and growth of the internet population, but I've missed out on many things due to procrastination. Perhaps I'll wait till I'm too old...

My biggest fear starting out is that we have to depend on to many outside factors or as some call them Middle Men. So, the fear is that the Middle Men could pull the plug on anything I do at any moment. FB, WF, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Youtube, Paypal, ClickBank, the lists go on forever lol. You got to wonder if it's even our businesses any more.

IM's tend to find fear as one of the biggest things in their careers as they keep moving towards success or even failure, fear keeps moving like a shadow with them.

This is the case with everyone & they mostly agree with this too, in form of failure, learning, diversification, as these all areas tend to appear coz of fear & ultimately loosing business, that is why no one wants to loose their business stream.

FEAR stands for -> False evidence that appear real

So focus on the truth evidence. Cause in this life you will get hurt. It is not how many victories you have it is. How many losses happen in your life and you can stand up and go on again till victory. This is call a Champion
