What are your ideas/experiences on how we can serve our target markets better?

How can we truly understand what they want/need and provide world class service?

For me, the #1 thing I will look up before buying something is after-sale service. Create a friendly support system, where your customer can easily ask for your support or help. You can also create small community for your service, so people that have same interest could interact with you.

    My point is, after-sales service..

Thanks! Can you elaborate a little more about why this is important? Was there a particular experience that you taught you this?

It is very important. It builds your credibility and reputation. It will help your IM career in the future as people know that you're a responsible person, who doesn't only sell product as many as you can, but also help people that trusts you. There are many service/product providers that leave the buyer just as soon as they get the money, leaving the customer unguided.

Worse, if you play it like you care, but actually don't. For example, promising that you will give after-sales service, but in the end you'll do it for only a week, then after that disappear into nowhere..

Go out and find something truly unique. Obviously something that works. Something you spend a lot of time testing and gathering great information for. Make sure it delivers something no-one else could possibly know, and give it to them in an amazing way so even if people copied your idea it couldn't match yours.

Now market it in a way that they would like to buy, while sneaking in everything they must know.

I like to use surveys during webinars, or just sending out surveys to my subscribers to see what they could use help with at the moment.

Then when I have an answer, create a free product for them, to help them out and then later upsell a more advanced version of the product.

That way, even if they don't decide to buy - I've still helped them out.

After-sales service, making sure our customers apply what we teach correctly, building a relationship with them - so that we can ask them what they would like to see in the market.

Pin-pointing exact problems is pretty important.

I agree this is a great way to build a relationship and better understand your subscribers and make money from it.

I also see alot of marketers having special Facebook groups to help and publicly answer any questions or problems customers may have.
This is a good way to build a relationship and create your own little community while establishing yourself as an authority.

Also, make sure to always over-deliver. When you are working on a new product you should be constantly asking yourself "What Else?" what more value can you add.

Thanks Ryan - that was very powerful.

You described not only how to help our customers but also how to make money in the process. Now, that's gold!

You create better products by having more in-depth knowledge
of the problem you propose to solve with the product and by knowing
more about the habits, patterns and preferences of the people who
will actually use the product to solve the problem for themselves.

You gain this knowledge by asking questions and doing good research.

That's really the long and short of it.

Successful people aren't the ones with all the right answers.... they're
the ones with the right questions.

Its a question I regularly send out to my list, its so important to ask what they want, and not think you know what they want!

But to answer your question, How can we create better and more valuable products? is completely down to the individual!!!.......you are either someone who wants to build a small but responsive following that keep you busy and pay well, by providing good quality training in the same way a family member would take care of you, or you can be like some of the blatantly cash hungry wso authors who just care about making tons of sales by putting out a different wso every month or so! ....................Personally I prefer to be the first!

I'm working on my first wso, which will hopefully be launched towards the end of the year! its going to show my offline/online business, how it was built and maintained and going to walk through every last detail as per my day to day diary!........am I going to release another soon after?....hell no, I'm going to be happy to 100% commit to my buyers and hold their hand until they have their business set up and making money! How the hell can I do that if I'm already working on my next product? which is my point, a solid product is a product the author stands by and see's through to the better end to give the buyers the best chance of success! - thats how we can produce better more valuable products!

.......as you can see I'm not a big fan of the so called wso gurus!! lol

      Interesting...

So with your model, do charge a recurring fee? Or your money will come from creating new products sold to your list?

My business I have developed is up and running and completely scalable, its been more successful than I ever thought it would and am in the process of expanding it now! when I release the product I will work with as many as I can of my buyers to get them set up and earning, once they are at that stage then I wont upsell a product, more work with them as a coach to acheive the expansion stage at a charge, in relation to the profits they are acheiving. Im a marketer, so of course there will be recurring income, but in a partnership kind of manor! Its going to take alot putting the product together, hence the expected launch towards the end of the year!

Be a part of the market, visit online forums, be a part of the communities within the markets, join webinars, mastermind groups on FB or Skype, discuss, talk. Know the market. Know the people and what they are truly after.

Only this way will you understand the market perfectly and will be able to market to your customers effectively.

That's why you'll often be told to dive into markets that you know something about or have an interest in. You won't have to do too much research on your own, you'll have that fundamental knowledge and everything will be easier for you.
