Advice Needed: Don't Want to Upset Google

Hi Warriors....I'm back for more advice.

I've got my blog set up and what not, and I have a very important question. Over the past week, I've been adding content to the blog, but I don't want to upset the Google Gods.

The question is: How many posts is it safe to do in one day, without upsetting Google? Is there a recommended limit?

When you answer this question, please keep in mind that my objective is to get a small but decent amount of content on the blog before I really start hustling for traffic. Right now, I'm pretty sure that I am the only traffic...I'm not sure if not hustling up traffic from day one is a bad thing or a good thing though.

So question #2 is:

At what point should I start working to bring traffic to the blog?

Generally, people recommend adding a maximum of two or three articles, per day. Some conservative SEO experts suggest just two or three per week, when the blog is new.

I've added up to 10 new posts at a brand new website, and I haven't seen any negative effects. However, I'm a prolific writer and I routinely writer very long (500+ words) articles that seem to get lots of links from 2.0 sites, as soon as I post the main URL to my friends at Twitter or Facebook.

I work on traffic as soon as I feel the visitor's experience will be positive. I want to have enough diverse, interesting articles that almost any serious visitor will read a minimum of two or three articles before going elsewhere.

For me, that's usually about 10 - 12 content-rich articles, and I tend to do a moderate amount of internal linking. I try to think about my readers' interests, and start with two or three main articles. Then, for each of those articles, I add two to three related articles (longer-tail keywords) that might be helpful or interesting.

I think Google will be happy enough if you're providing a good experience for your visitors, no matter how many articles you start out with and how quickly you build the site when you're launching it. Keep bounce rate in mind, and you'll be fine.

By posts do you mean 300-500 word articles or just a 100 word blurb?

If it's quality/unique content there really isn't a limit. Though if you had 10 posts I would recommend posting 1 per day or every other day rather than 10 all at once. It gives the impression that your site is update on a regular basis. Fresh content boost yo!

#2 - If you can, why not bring traffic right now? If you have a few posts might as well start trying for traffic right away!

I haven't actually been counting the number of words per post. I've done 5 posts to date: one based on my own personal experience with Lupus (very long post), one informative one on medications used to treat Lupus and whether they do more harm than good (not as long as my story, but fairly long), two posts that link out to authority news sites that have recently published interesting news concerning Lupus (I added my own two cents, describing what the reader would find at the news site before linking to it - maybe between 100 and 150 words there), and one post with just a bit of text (slightly less than 100 words) describing a video and why I posted it, with the video embedded.

How much does the length of a post matter to Google? Is shorter better? Do I get extra Google points and Google love for longer posts?

You can add as many as you wish but remember that content is king.

If you really don't wanna upset Google then make all quality content.

Well they always say content is king. so i can not see how you can be descredited from posting to much. However, unless these are previously written articles you have to be either a very fast writter or be writting short unrelevent articles. As any new website is based upon a mixture of link building and content, I would suggest focusing on more than just writting if these articles are not pre-produced

No, I won't be using any PLR type articles on this site at all. I will be using content written by me, including relevant video done by others, with my own words added, and linking out to authority websites as they relate to my topic (particularly news sites with fresh news on my topic), adding a bit of text describing what I'm sending my readers to - which of course will open in a new window/tab. My goal is to build a Lupus community.

I have never realized any type of penalty for adding content to my sites from Google. About a month ago I published 200 pages in one day, and many of them ended up getting good rankings in Google and still remain there.

There is a lot of speculation about this but I have never noticed any problems with adding a lot of content at one time.

Wow. Was that all original content or PLR?
