Are Click Bank affiliates killing me ??

I hope not.....

I have my first ebook site up and running. I have more to roll out but want to 'learn the ropes' with this one. It's a business related book.

A few Click Bank affiliates have taken up the book, which is great! Right? Hmmm. I'm not so sure.

Sadly they are promoting the book on really crappy sites that I suspect survive on really bad automated link building. And all the references/low quality links to our ebook site may have caused it to dissapear into Google oblivion, never to be found on natural search again. It was on page 3 of google, now the only way I can find it is to search for the full domain name!

There are also some really crappy You Tube videos appearing to promote the book, which don't reflect well on our busines or on me. So, I plan is to get our SEO 'Investigator' to check the site re hosting (bad neighbourhoods), backlinks etc etc.

Then based on what we find, we may have to pull it off the CB affiliate program. Assuming it is that, which is causing the issue. (not 100% sure yet)

Any others had similar experiences? I'd be surprised it it was the Affiliate sites causing the 'slap', but nothing else has changed in the 4 weeks since launch, as it was ranking really well.

Any ideas of thoughts appreciated.........

If you were only on page 3, you were already in oblivion. Most CB products rely on affiliates for traffic anyway, not the search engines. Are they making any sales for you?

If you got affiliates, your product must be doing well. I would ride it out.

A few sales, though not many.

Just a pity that the site was on page 3 already without any marketing. It would have ranked top 5 easily with a bit of link building, as it was an EMD for a highly searched term, without any competition.

I'll ride it out, but may turn off the affiliates in favour of higher rankings and sales off my own site.

The days of ranking an EMD on page one without doing any SEO are pretty much over. Take a look at the competition for the domain on page one, See what backlinks they have and what relevance their pages have for the keywords. That's what you've got to beat.

    Hi mate

If affiliates bring sales that's the most important. And if you have affiliate that' mean you have a good product potentially. You can do more SEO from your part to improve your SERP. Try social aspects too.

    Thanks

Thanks guys, good tips. I guess my concern is that if I do a good job of SEO on my own site, it may be better than using affliliates.

I have a few EMDs that rank really well.
