Here you go, just use the dropdown menus and it will tell you exactly what you will pay: New Import Duty & Taxes Calculation | DutyCalculator

Just remember 1) always try and use a secure payment method/escrow, and 2)You cannot buy authentic branded items from China.

I would do a good bit of research on them before selecting a potential vendor. Their parent company had a lot of bad press about 1-2 years ago due to employees that were working with scammers or who were scammers themselves.

I would also suggest you check out Globalsources.com - they have been in business for about 40 years and perform a background check on all of the vendors advertised in their trade directory publications - they have both paid directories that are fairly costly but they also have a series of 18 free product specific trade directories available online.

    Aliexpress is retail

    Alibaba is wholesale

I suggest going with alibaba and I have one student from UK who finished my 1-on-1 training so I can help you with that.

First you need to pay VAT for bigger orders. You need a custom broker and most of the time they contact you if your package is held in custom.

The easiest way for you is to contact your local custom office and ask simple questions. You will get answer in 5 minutes.

Ask any questions if you need help in China, I have worked in this field for more than 10 years.
Business model based on your order, for wholesale business, it's as simple as request FOB China price and your local fees; for retail, you need a partner in China to collect all goods from Aliexpress or Alibaba, then ship to you or your customer, because ship out goods one item after one will be very expensive.
Also, the shipping fee vary based on the weight of your goods, if it is over 20Kgs, DHL/FEDEX will be fine; for under 10Kgs, EMS will be better; for 0.1Kg items, Post Parcel will best; if you need the goods in 2 or 3 months, Sea-Freight Parcel will meet your needs and cheap.
I have partnered with a UK business man for years, very experienced to deal with these things, so you guys can ask any questions if you need help, I'll be happy to answer your questions or partner with you.
PM me or email me junwe at 163.com if interesting. Have a nice day!

This is probably the best advise you'll get regarding importing from China:

DON'T do it unless you can either go to China or you know somebody personally who trades with China all the time.
Don't say nobody told you so if you still do it and get scammed :-)
