New to IM. Where do I start?

Hello, I've been a member on the forums for a while. I just been snooping around and researching all that I can. I've learned a lot since I've been here, obviously I'm still learning everything that I can about Internet Marketing. I even have a notebook for jotting down notes while researching. All these ideas been popping up in my head for different niches. I been trying to stay focus on one idea at a time. My mind keep flooding in with new ideas and such. I like to apply myself to as many things as possible.

Some skills that I bring to the table: I play multiple instruments. Violin, trombone, drums, guitar, etc. I played a handful on instruments during middle school and high school. I'm a intermediate in programming. HTML,CSS,Java,C++,PHP. I was thinking about putting up a ad in Warriors for Hire to design website templates for people. I love to write articles and books.

I also been thinking about throwing up a blog for instrument tips and training. Not sure yet, it's still in the thought process. I only have $110 to spare so I want to spend it wisely. As I stated earlier, I can't keep focus on one thing at a time.:p Hope that clears things up for now.

My advice would be to just start. You say you have lots of ideas for niches, pick the one you like the best (musical instruments?) and just buy a domain, install wordpress and start cranking out some articles. Domain plus hosting is cheap and well within your budget.

Then maybe start a Youtube channel to promote your blog.

If you have something you can teach then just start getting content out there, you can always monetize it later, get some traffic first.

Learn the finer points as you go, it's good to just get stuff out there to be indexed etc.

    Just take action

Also I suggest doing some keyword research before registering and creating a website. That way you'll get a general idea on how potentially successful your website will be in the given niche.

IMHO it is not so important what you start with... it's important that you start.
Many people seem to exhaust themselves in mind games without ever taking
action...and therefore without ever making any money.
I learned the biggest lessons by doing stuff... not by thinking about it.

I think the warriors for hire thread is a great start.

You'll have to give out a few review copies since you're new to the forums but once the reviews come in and as long as your prices are competitive you'll make some good money.

You can honestly do that and market your product.

Put it on other forums as well make it well known and you can make a decent living solely from the web design

    My advice:

    1) Find niches that you're passionate about

    2) Find blogs that specialize in that niche and subscribe to their feeds using Google Reader

    3) Spend 2 weeks or so just getting IMMERSED in the niche's news, trends, terms, etc

    4) Write a short and quick online business plan

    5) Build a blog and squeeze page for your list

    6) For traffic building, try Critique of 50 top ways to drive traffic to your site | free website traffic

It is not smart to rush into more than one topic to research. Try to focus on one thing. The way I see it. your programing skills are really the most important ones try focus on that, I am sure that will bring you a lot of money over the course of time.

I understand it's not good. My programming skills are pretty good. So I don't need to spend that much time on those skills

Sell your services in the classified section of this forum. Simply get a logo make a nice clean thread and maybe even offer a few services for free. That should get you making money online fast and let the other stuff fall into place from there.

In the long run, you'll probably end up trying them all..or most of them anyways.

Find the one you WANT to work on right now and get started with that first.

    Hello Justin,

After reading your post, I guess, the problem in here is not about the things that you can do but discipline.

You got to discipline yourself in doing one thing at a time. Multi-tasking is good on a case-to-case basis. But as you start to pave your way in an online world, multi-tasking has its role later but not for the mean time. Condition your mind to your goal of setting an auto-pilot business. Once you've achieved that goal, proceed with the next.

May the Warrior Force be with you.

If you're new to internet marketing, the first steps you need to go through are the ff:

    1. Know your target market
    2. Define your goals
    3. Set yourself from the competition by branding yourself
    4. Learn and do SEO
    5. Do Social media

No one can be successful with IM without some sort of a plan. So be sure to give your 100% effort.

I recommend going to WSO section and picking a product that has tons of positive reviews.

Then study it and take action UNTIL you succeed...

Don't by another product until you mastered first one.

    Cheers,

justin, you have some good options open to you

the guitar niche is a good niche to get into

as you play the guitar you could create a blog with your own domain and start writing content around guitar tips and information and then every so often do some reviews on guitar products

you can create a little guitar report to give away to build your list

then possibly even (eventually create your own guitar product)

build the traffic to your blog through social media and other traffic sources and as long as your active on your blog and you create plenty of good content you will soon start to see some traffic and results

this can be done in any niche but as long as its profitable and it has plenty of buyers and traffic

Yeah become an authority with what you already know and something that can be very profitable further down the line.

How many people are looking for guitar lessons that are not going to cost them the earth and can be done at home.

I know my dad is currently having guitar lessons from someone who teaches you at their own home but I know that this is not something everyone is able to do.

You can set up a FaceBook fan page dedicated to this and keep providing useful and practical information, give an introductory course for beginners away for FREE in exchange for their Email address and you can keep in touch with them by providing weekly tips and tricks on the guitar subject area.

After a while you can begin to sell them on a more complete package course, recommend certain products as an affiliate, etc etc.

Once you have built an army of followers on your Email list the possibilities are endless. Feel free to download the list building report below.

Hope this helps and good luck with your future efforts my firend!

  • STEP ONE: Start with your overall personal financial profile. What is your current income? Your current savings? Your current assets? Your current investments? Your current credit resources? Your current network resources? Then:

STEP TWO: Use these details to study your current situation and the values you must achieve, along with the benefits the attainment of these values can provide you and your family for your needs. Then:

STEP THREE: Formulate logical plans that can realistically help you achieve those values. Integrate online marketing as a component of your plan to reach wider markets and reduce your monthly overheads. Then:

STEP FOUR: Implement those plans. Then:

STEP FIVE: Monitor the results of campaigns integrated into your overall plan. Compare your results against your target projections. Improve your campaigns accordingly. The goal is to achieve your projections. That's it.

You start here. The warrior forum, and also plan your budget and times you are avalible to work. If you have a full time job then budget should be higher because time is lower, if you are unemployed then more time less money, you mention you have $110, thats enough to get started. Domain and unlimited hosting $10 and $10 a month then war room membership, $40 every 20 years isit? Go on there find some methods you like and follow them step by step, that would be what I would do.

My advice is to get started.

Check out the Bum Marketing method for a few pointers and just learn as you go along - I do know that you will NEVER be an expert in all things but the key is to learn what you NEED to know to take action.

Don't spend money until you are making money.
