Nearly settled my first "Real" Solo Ad - Need advice.

I've just recieved an email from somebody who seems very interested to go ahead with a Solo Ad, but I'm not sure what to make of her response.

Here's how it went:

Her: "My list is 35K. What are your prices you are offering?"

Me: "Can you give me a rough idea of your open rates? If you were to send out an email to your list, what sort of percentage would open? On average?"

Her: "It depends on the topic. It can vary from 1% to 40%"

How am I supposed to give a price when I have no idea what open rate I can expect? Shall I ask for a screenshot?

Well, really... open rates don't matter unless you are sending out pure information. You should see what the avg clicks you will get when the solo is dropped. Then from that you can work your numbers to figure what you are willing to pay for the drop.

to be honest you don`t even need to risk buying a solo ad off of someone that can`t guarantee how many clicks you will get

all of the solo ads which i buy they guarantee you a certain number of clicks

for instance - $35 for 100 unique clicks

with this i know i will get around 40 - 60 new opt ins and probably more because vendors always send you a few extra anyway

this is so much easier because you know roughly how many opt ins you will get before you even buy the ad

this only really applies to the IM niche because getting guaranteed clicks solo ads in other niches are a bit harder to come by

    • Hey paul,

Yes, this is outside of the IM niche, and I actually used your strategy in your thread, and it worked

I just literally have no idea what price to offer, because she isn't giving me any numbers to go by.

    ok cool

well i would ask her for screen shot of her last 5 - 10 mail outs

and ask her what she was promoting and tell her what you are promoting

if she is legit and has nothing to hide then she will have no problems helping you out

if she starts to get a bit cagey and funny over it about sending you screen shots then just don`t bother

it takes 1 min to take a screen shot so if she can`t do that for a potential customer i would just walk away

You should agree on an amount of guaranteed unique clicks and focus less on Open Rate.
