Can I Re-use Guest Posts?

Most good blogs require me to create unique content for their blogs as guest posts.

I don't mind doing this. However, am I allowed to re-use the guest posts elsewhere? On other platforms?

Can I atleast post it to my own blog with a by-line saying, "This is an article that I wrote for Alistblog.com as a guest post", with a link to the blog/post URL?

If I am the owner of that blog, I would not allow you to use the post in other blogs. Anyway, it depends on your agreement, but it is likely that no one will agree posting their content in another sites..

The blog owner is the one who will tell you if you can reuse the content elsewhere. Ask them.

Ok. Forget about other blogs. Can I use it in my own blog?

No offense but this question does not make sense if you are reading the posts above.

Most site owners are going to say no. It's worth a shot asking to see if they'll say yes but it's unlikely.

Depends on who has the copyright to the material and the terms of any binding agreement that is in place.

IF the post is *VERY* good, you might be able to post it first on your blog, then give permission to republish elsewhere. This can only happen if the post is so good that the other blog don't mind that it's been published first on your personal site (they just don't want to republish something that's already appeared on a competitor's site).

For example, I had 2 posts from one of my blogs that were republished on VentureBeat. At the end of the post on VB, it says:

"This story originally appeared on [name of my blog] and is republished here with permission."

    No.

Some bloggers have guidelines that say explicitly not to post your article elsewhere, but it's sort of an unwritten code of guest blogging that the post stays unique.

No matter how good a guest post is it don't feel at ease using it. I'd rather curate details and include them on my article rather than ask for someone's approval for me to use their content. Try curating it's less agonizing than having to ask if you can use a specific content you like.
