Default Adsense vs Affiliate Products

I've been thinking about my strategy and how much reliance my plan has on Google Adsense revenues... It seems like alot of very successful warriors have gone another route to reach success which is centered around informational product creation and distribution via a sales page with payment handled by clickbank... does anyone have any tips they could provide me with where to start i.e. where can i get a sales page template or where can i learn about what goes into an effective sales page/landing page/squeeze page from start to finish (i.e. something that includes templates or somewhere i can buy them from?)

Honestly it seems a bit overwhelming but when i compare how much work it is to rank for terms and how effectively i am monetizing my traffic it seems like relying on adsense is much more time consuming in the long run... They talk about the 80/20 rule i.e. that 80 percent of your revenue will come from 20 percent of the work (im starting to figure that out and I want to take control of my income more directly.. i dont mind if i need to spend some money on content generation but i want to develop a strategy that I can use to create/sell/market info products that makes money ex a successful autopilot business)

Warriors are some of the most resourceful people on the web so I thought that someone might be willing to weigh in on this topic... I'm sure that other info product noobs would love advice as well.

thanks in advance.

I am doing both adsense & affiliate marketing. I could say affiliate marketing is much more rewarding. You need to focus your efforts getting targeted traffic towards a niche or a specific product but the EPC will be much higher.

It's a lot more easier to make affiliate/CPA earnings than adsense these days. Adsense used to be a big money maker .. but now it's only a shadow of what it used to be .. I still make $150 - $170 a day from it .. but .. affiliate earnings are a lot faster and pay per click higher. Not to mention you can build a list and maybe later on create your own product ..

Dan Kennedy has at least one book on copy writing - I would highly recommend any of his stuff. I have about 4 of his books, some by vitale, oglvy, sugarman, and others.. Educate yourself on writing sales copy from very best in the world, and you won't regret it.

You can just look at yanik silvers sales pages and get an education - they may not be pretty, and he may have moved on to bigger pastures with his seminars, but the guy is really good.

As for a good squeeze page - here's a simple formula that I got by observing yanik, jeff walker, and eben pagan:
headline
sub-head
intro paragraph
some bullet points of benefits
optin box

For most Warriors, I would suggest what you have demoted to in earnings via Adsense is what the Warriors are hoping to achieve.

Maybe a little insight to achieving that would be beneficial, even if it is only a 4-5 page ebook warriors can opt-in for, I bet they would read it!

Affiliate marketing will make you so much more cash than Adsense, and creating your own product will make you even more cash.

I'm not to sure of any templates, as I build all of my sites from scratch, but I'm sure that some exist. I think 'google assassin' might be one.

If you want to read about making money with adsense I have a link about it in my sig.

I read The Guru Assassin, Commission Blueprint, and Clickbank Cash Secrets 2009 and they really helped me out A LOT! If you want to read those.

Affiliate marketing gets my vote.

Same marketing tactics = better money.

Ok, well it looks like the majority of marketers here are leaning towards affiliate marketing, does anyone have any tips/strategies they would implement when trying to create a product and sales page website?

you don't need either of those if your going into affiliate marketing..

get started with affiliate marketing, and see which niches and products are doing well for you. This will give you a good idea as to what the market is willing to spend money on.

Create your product (there are plenty of guides out there to help you), get one of those books I told you about regarding writing sales copy and make your sales page, and then simply replace your successful affiliate promotions in this niche with your own product.

I could fluff that out to 60 pages and charge you $47 if you really want

I think that both adsense & affiliate marketing are a great combination and would probably lean more towards affiliate marketing as the rewards are greater and you get more a kick out of helping people directly with their needs. I find that its much easier to make money with affiliate and cost per action sources than adsense these days. Previously adsense was an easier and more effective way to make a substantial income, but probably the popularity of it has reduced its effectiveness. Affiliate sources are generally quicker and pay more per click and also offer you the opportunity to get a good list happening.

ok jason, I get the point, maybe I wasn't clear enough... keyword research and product creation are not as much of a problem but rather finding a template system that will work well in regard to making an effective sales page (trying to streamline a process that is repeatable...), have you ever heard of xsitepro?

btw i don't think i'd buy your ebook based on the information you've presented so far but i appreciate the effort lol

you can make a good affiliate income off 300 visitors a day if your copy is right and the product you are pushing is good.

This is not possible with adsense.

You were plenty clear.. well, besides the fact I can't tell if you want to market your own products, or get into affiliate sales.

Effective sales copy is what makes an effective sales page. Formatting it is the easy part if you spend a weekend with a basic html book.

I've already been down the path you are contemplating my friend. And it really can be as simple as what I laid out - if you let it.

laugh all you want... but I was profitable within 12 hours of getting started, and it's made me enough money part-time to walk away from a 6 figure job.
