Product with master resale and click bank

I found a product that I think is great and it has master resale rights. It is a type of software and thought of adding an ebook to it. If I do this, can I put the whole thing on clickbank? From what I read in the sales page, it says I can do pretty much anything, as long as I'm selling it. I can't just give it away. The other thing I was going to do is do a website promoting the product and drive traffic to it myself. Should I do both these things, or does that not seem right?

At the same time, I'm also working on a blog that is in a niche I love. I was also planning on including the product on my site, but giving it to my subscribers at a really low price. Maybe even a dollar? Wish it could be a give away but I can't do that.

Sorry for the newbie babble but any advice would be great! Thanks!

One more thought...why do they have products like that? Where you can't give them away. If they aren't making the profit, why do they care if you sell it or give it away?

    Yes - you can.

Personally I would do both. You can't rely on ClickBank to deliver you affiliates until you can prove your product actually converts. You site will help with that.

I have launched products with Resale Rights and Master Resale Rights with the same restriction. The reason is to attempt to keep the value high for people who purchased the rights.

    Good luck,

    You'll need to ask them.

I was first instinctively thinking "Noooooo, they're not going to allow that to be sold on ClickBank", but, looking at the wording on this page, they say "All products must be original or appropriately licensed, and cannot infringe on the intellectual property of others" and looking at it superficially, at least, it appears that the software component of what you're talking about would be "appropriately licensed" and wouldn't "infringe on the intellectual property of others" - and the ebook you add it, if you write it yourself or pay someone to write it for you, clearly wouldn't. So who knows?

I think it's something to do with protecting the product's "perceived value" for people who've bought it from them - if hundreds of people just give it away (for instance as a list-building freebie), then it becomes well known that it's a "free product" and people associate that with "having very little value" so it makes it harder for the original owner (or anyone else) to sell it at all?

PS, sorry - Will posted while I was typing, and knows more than I do about this!
