A Simple Strategy To Getting More Done & Generating A Boat Load Of Traffic

Okay, this is not splitting the atom time. There are a million and one ways to get traffic online, but many fall short due to info overload and motivation issues from losing that all important focus. Today, I want to introduce the simple little strategy that will help alleviate the above problems. No more info overload, no more motivational issues and no more losing focus.

Quite simply, it’s setting a 30 day challenge/goal for yourself. I use this strategy myself and have seen my end results skyrocket as a result. The idea is to set a 30 day challenge to focus solely on just “one” traffic generating strategy and implementing it to its fullest before doing anything else.

For example:
Guest posting is a very effective way to get a tonne of visitors to your website, build relationships with fellow bloggers, build an email list and to hopefully make some sales, yes? Well, for the first 30 days of your challenge, you write one guest post every single day and submit it to other websites. You will no doubt get a hell of a lot of free traffic and can begin building an email list.

For the 30 days you shouldn’t implement anything else other than guest posting. Read everything about it, research the best blogs to post on, find out the best strategies to use and write that post before you do anything else. After 30 days you should have 30 posts that each can generate anywhere from 100 – 1000 visitors to your website. That’s between 3000 – 30,000 potential customers to market to down the line.

After the 30 days are up, you should have a good idea of what worked best, why it worked best and how to implement this knowledge into your overall “ultimate” traffic generating plan for the future. I should mention that you “must” document your progress and define exactly what worked best. You will need this further down the road when you create your first eBook/Video course etc.

Next 30 Days: Forum Marketing:
Find 3 – 5 high traffic forums within your niche and set a 30 day goal to post 10 posts on each of them every single day, providing value, of course. Again, document what works best and which tactics you use are getting you the most traffic, and why.

10 posts in 5 forums each day for 30 days straight is “1,500” posts a month. This will get you a lot of traffic if you are indeed providing value. You will also be on your way to establishing yourself on these forums which can lead to great partnerships and opportunities further down the line. Make sure to document everything for later on when you create that killer product.

Next 30 Days: Article Marketing:
You get the point, right?

Conclusion:
The biggest problem for a lot of people in this industry is too much jumping around from one strategy to next. The 30 day challenge forces you to focus solely on one strategy at a time. You have 30 days to learn everything about that strategy by actually doing the work. At the end of the 30 days you will have a much clearer idea of what works, and what doesn’t. Then it’s just a matter of separating the crap from the good and compiling the ultimate traffic generating system that you have proved to be effective.

When you have well oiled traffic generating system in place after all of this work you can write your own book or create a free traffic generating course that you can sell to people who will be MORE than willing to benefit from your hard work. This product will be fluff free and will benefit a lot of people. It will also shave a lot of time and effort they otherwise would have to go through to find out exactly what works best. You could also document your progress on your blog every step of the way if you like and get others to follow your progress.

P.S.. Just because you decide to focus on one traffic generating strategy for 30 days does not mean you neglect other areas of your marketing. On the contrary, your end goal should always be focused on refining what works best in this industry, adding it to your system and throwing away the garbage. Complete your daily task first, and then you’re free to do whatever else you feel needs attention in your business.

Great strategy - thanks for sharing this information. I have actually done something like this before when it comes to writing content. When I first started I found it hard to write a post each day to my sites so I set a goal much like this. It really does work.

I was the same way with writing content consistently for my websites until I set these goals. Something as simple as setting a daily, weekly and monthly schedule can have a dramatic affect on your overall performance and results.

Nicely put. Commitment & determination is so very necessary to save yourself from the "shiny object syndrome". You've got to stick to your guns to really see your strategy or products to the end.

And even then, you gotta be ready for it to NOT work. At least you would know what doesn't work, which is equally important in my opinion.

For example, Forum marketing does work, you just need to find forums that are worth your time.

Some forums are great (like this one), and some aren't worth your attention at all. You would have to do a lot of trial and error (and apply some common sense at the same time) to find ones that matter.

To find forums in your niche, you can use a simple Google search:
your niche or keyword + forum

Or use something like big-boards (.) com
    (sorry, cannot post URLs yet)

With article marketing, you need to know which article directories still send good traffic.

With guest posting, you have to identify which blogs in your niche are really good (large, responsive readership) and go from there.

BUT, what you aboslutely cannot do is quit midway - that's only going to waste your time and never take you an inch closer to success.

That's definitely a coherent strategy, and the key to it's success (as with any plan) will be it's consistent application over time.

So many times "stuff" comes up: family, walking the dog, relationships, doing the laundry, etc. These all sound pedantic, but it is important to understand that we have to get our goal-oriented tasks done in spite of our normal routine.

Yeah I have done a 30 day action plan like this before myself.

It involved promoting affiliate products by writing articles, commenting on blog posts, submitting the articles URL's to bookmarking sites etc etc.

It worked and I still continue to get traffic and make the occasional sales and the initial work was done years ago.

Great post my friend and keep up the momentum my friend!!!

Very good point. I like to place significance on both these days. So, I will make personal goals as well as business related goals. This month I have set a goal to meditate for 30 days

If you post 100 or 1000 posts in few forums, you still get tiny traffic. Try another forums. There are a lot of forums on the internet.

Stupid question (don't worry I got a lot of them). So, what you are saying is that some markets prefer forums and some prefer blogs. That means, you might get more traffic from a blog post than a forum in some circumstances or vice versa.

It's important you find the right forums to post in first. If you are using forum posting as this months strategy, then you have 30 days to perfect this strategy as much as you can. Besides, there are plenty of huge forums with boat loads of traffic on them.

Of course, but the idea is to perfect one strategy to the point it gives you the best possible returns. You would do this for every strategy you implement. You don't have to use blogs, or forums. It's about picking one strategy, working hard at it for 30 days, gauging your progress to find out which tactics brought the best results and then adding them to your "ultimate" traffic strategy.

This is something you decide for yourself. There are plenty of tracking programs out there, just do a search. Google analytics can breakdown where your traffic is coming from. Anyway, if you are implementing one strategy for the whole 30 days, you should have no problem knowing where the traffic is coming from. Document exactly what you are doing every day on a spreadsheet. You will need this at the end of the 30 days to determine what exactly you did, and how effective the method you used was.

Great Strategy and I'm sure would work if you can stick to it. <--- Sticking to it is probably the biggest downfall for most because I would say the majority of the people in this industry start out in their spare time or while currently in full time employment so always find it hard to find the time to complete all of the areas in the strategy.

However, this is part and parcel and can be the difference between becoming a success and not - Internet marketing takes hard work, there is no way around it!

Not "sticking to it" defeats the whole purpose. Sticking to one strategy for 30 days is something anyone can do no matter how much time they put into it. I know the first thing I mentioned was to write 30 guest posts in 30 days, but that was just an example.

I honestly haven't got the time to write 30 guest posts myself but I will get it done because I want to measure the trade off of time vs traffic, implementing a free method over a paid one. Besides, I also want to measure the overall benefits from a lengthy perspective as I believe the traffic I get will be of far higher quality due to the relationship built with potential customers from the beginning.

Web 2.0 is also one more superb strategy to build your niche traffic online. The ones like article marketing, forum link building, & guest posting are really effective if you have little creative thoughts which you can offer with your products.

A very recent strategy named tier link building also came in use by lots of marketers & they are using it well for building a mechanized wall all over their website which is covered by all sorts of SEO activities. Hope thats also good enough...

good strategy, I think the most important point to take away is how much WORK is actually required. 1000 forum posts in a month is time consuming and difficult to day in and day out. I would be willing to be that many people would give up and quit before reaching a goal like that and never realizing what it actually takes to make money. This gives you the sense that IM actually is a job, not some secret "website thing" that lazy people do to make money.

Any marketer, newbie or veteran alike will know that without proper planning you can never be succesfull, essentially important to track what you are doing everyday to monitor what you are spending your time on.

Sticking to one strategy at a time is always a great idea, and very easy to document success and failures.

Sure give it a go, but make sure that you commit to it for 30 days. If you are serious about success, then sticking to a 30 day challenge should be a cake walk. Okay, it may not be easy, but definitely doable.

Shiny object syndrome has been used for years in the marketing industry

Interesting points, the only thing I would say is that guest posting is by far one of the most effective strategies to be implementing into your business. It's not just about the traffic but about the quality of the traffic and the relationships being built with prospects and webmasters.

I get the point you're making, 1000 forum posts is a bit of work, but if you are just doing this one strategy, it's not that much work at all. Maybe 500 could be a target that can be reached with no problems.
