Would this make sense for an Autoresponder? Advice Needed

Looking for an opinion on this...

Someone has an opt in page / ebook with 10 tips (the ebook has 10 tips on bettering yourself).

So, in the first email, the subscriber gets the book, immediately after signing up... With a call to action at the bottom to also buy a program for bettering yourself (so, this is a dual call to action in one email... download ebook and buy program... possibly a mistake in itself).

And then, after this initial ebook.. They want to send the SAME 10 TIPS, AGAIN, 1 tip in each email... With a call to action at the bottom of each email to again, buy the program (each call to action will be "spun", or worded in a different compelling way)

Now, to put it kindly, is this totally offbase?

My thinking is, if they already got the 10 tips in one ebook / first email, they are going to be "banner blind", and aren't going to be reading the subsequent 10 emails, because they already saw all the tips in the first place... So, they then would proceed to either: delete future emails, unsubscribe, or at least IGNORE the call to action at the bottom of each of the 10 emails with the tips... (which is the main purpose of the future 10 emails).

Am I wrong for thinking this, or right on the money? Anybody ever seen something like this be successful?

My thinking is either the entire autoresponder needs to just be the 10 tips (no free ebook)... or, give away the free ebook and then have emails following that are COMPLETELY original, not just the same 10 tips pasted again with a call to action to buy..

Please give thoughts, thanks will be given.

Thanks

Hey Randall, believe it or not, this actually isn't for me... But a possible client .

I just don't want to take the money and do something that I feel isn't best, so asking opinions.

But yea, thanks for the response. Any detailed feedback from people with autoresponder experience is greatly appreciated and thanks given.

      Thanks!

Nope you're right I would unsubscribe if I'm getting the same tips that I read in the ebook. Its a thinly veiled ploy to market to them and anyone will see right through it.

    I would do the following:
Day 0 - ebook download - on the download page have another free ebook - a secret bonus.
Day 3 - Point them to a well written solid content laden blog post. On the right hand side of the blog have the offer so they can "discover" the offer.
Day 7 - More value - a webinar replay or whitepaper or another blog post. Always try to push them back to your main site where the offer will live.
Day 14 - NOW have another value laden download with the up-sell on the download page. You've built a relationship. You've given them value and if they made it this far they may buy your up-sell.

Slam, bam, thank you ma'am does not work guys. Read this forum and stop trying to blast people and ask for a sale. Its a new era - catch up or have limited to no success.

I would use the first autoresponder series to build a relationship with the subscriber. So I would point again to the ebook, give them solid content, and express my personality. Then I would promote quality products.
