Hi,

Thought I`d just post some basic stats, which might help n00bs as well.

1. For my website traffic, I tend to get the majority of traffic (fairly even too) Monday-Thursday. Friday drops off a bit, and Saturday is the low point. What does this say? Most people probably have office jobs 9-5, and on weekends want to get away from the computer. How do you use this info? Well -- you know that they like their weekends -- so provide a product/service for that.

2. It's been my experience that whatever promotion I do, it seems to have minimum a 2-3 week lag time. So if I do a promotion today, I'll probably have to wait 3 weeks until I see a sale. (That is of course excluding direct response lists). So what does this say? Don't be discouraged if you don't see a sale right away. Patience is a virtue.

Those are two main things. If you are an expert, feel free to add your own bit of advice.

Its pretty amazing that I came here today to see if I could figure out what days were best for traffic as I'm starting a PPC campaign tonight or tomorrow.

      Thanks very much!

I'm a noob, and I really appreciate stat #2! I was wondering what's a reasonable time to start seeing sales from a campaign. It's too easy for me to get frustrated and abandon something if I don't see immediate results.

        Thanks!

Sure, no problem... Yes, I am talking about 'general' promotion here.. If I am doing an e-mail campaign however (but note: it does take 'time' to build a list, etc) -- then I can usually see an immediate response (i.e., like 20 sales within a few hours because of one e-mail). But that is entirely different from the 'general' promotion I am talking about.

I feel also as the weather get's even nicer, that the weekends will drop off even more! The last thing I want to do on a sunny day is sit down at a computer when I can be out by my fire pit with a cold beet

Just My Two Cents... But I've been wrong before so it wont be the first time.

Hmm, I always thought people would spend more time during the weekends online because they have more free time.
