Hello Warriors!

I just launched a new venture where I generate leads for a mortgage lender. I have a website and video squeeze page set up and I need some advice to help increase my conversion rate.

Squeeze page URL private.canada-mortgage-centre.ca

Right now I am getting I lead per 100 impressions (Facebook ads) and the average time spent on the page is 22 seconds.

Thanks in advance,
Brad M

that was a very nice squeeze page I think.
Test it with more traffic. that was nicely designed, especially the video thumbnail. =)

Yes - your squeeze page is good - but you need a broader traffic stream

At present your only source of viewers who might be interested is fairly narrow:

      - Canadian Facebook members interested in a mortgage
[ I would think that many who click through your Facebook ad are just browsing - not really interested - which is why your conversion rate is so low.

Depending on what your commissions are you might try buying targeted traffic from one of the big sellers - you can specify country/interests etc etc when you buy that traffic

Also try adds on free safelists and splash pages on free traffic exchanges.

Because of your narrow target market you will need to spread you advertising as wide as possible to realize and sort of substantial number of viewers.

Wow thanks for the input guys! What are some examples of the traffic sellers you speak of? I get a decent enough commission that I am to try new things and possibly pay affiliates.

    Thanks again!

The video is fine. I would include a headline above the video to keep people interested in what your video and offer is all about. Make the video more compelling too... since you're asking for more than a name and email address.

For a squeeze page you need everything above the fold. You're losing sooooo many optins by having the form below the fold where your visitor can't see it. See the links below to see what I mean.

Your video is excellent, leave that as-is but you have a lot more that needs changing if you want to improve your conversions

I'm still testing the links below as you should be, test, test, test

This one doesn't have a video, however, I could if I wanted to replace the the picture with a video

    UTSQ1 | Profit Secrets Unleashed

Video squeeze page, very simple, a headine, a video and an optinbox

    psusq | Profit Secrets Unleashed

One more thing, are you sending these leads directly to the mortgage company or are you building a list yourself. If you're just building a list for the mortgage provider you may want to look at changing your strategy.

Do a bit of research into Pre POP, this way you can build a list and re-market to them whilst getting paid for the lead at the same time, just a thought!

Your current squeeze page sucks big time, for a number
      of simple reasons...

You're not even doing the BASICS right.

      1. Headline

The squeeze page I looked at has NO HEADLINE.

That's the FIRST thing that people should see when they
visit your squeeze page. It should grab their attention and
get them to want to read more (or view the video).

      2. Opt-In Box

Another basic that's missing is that the opt-in box does
not appear "above the fold" in the first screen view.

Instead, you're expecting people to scroll down to then
realize that there's an opt-in box there.

Also, you're asking for a lot of extra details like First Name,
Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Alt Phone.

FFS. Why not ask them for their inside leg measurement
      too. (sarcasm).

The more data fields you ask for, the lower your response
      (usually).

      3. The Video

The video is OK, but could be improved.

For example, instead of starting off talking about your
company and what you provide, begin the first few
seconds talking about your visitor and their problems.

And the opt-in form demonstrated in the video is NOT
the same as the opt-in form that appears below the
      video.

Oh, and I'd remove the Tweet button too. I'd want to
focus people on pressing the submit button.

Well said Shaun, I was trying to be a bit more supportive but this approach works too. It really is a bad squeeze page, with a little work you'll massively improve your conversions.

Great thanks for the advice! I will add a head line and move the opt in box right under the video.

I'm asking for all that information because with a name, email, and phone number I get paid on the lead.

Should I ask only for an email address and then have the squeeze page redirect to the full page.... URL Canada-mortgage-centre.ca?

          Thanks again,

No, you wouldn't want to make them go through 2 squeeze pages. Just get the single page you have tweaked with the suggestions Warriors have made so far and make sure your traffic is targeted.

Edit: People completing the form on Canada-mortgage-centre.ca doesn't matter to you, does it? You get paid for delivering leads with the info on YOUR squeeze, right?

            Thanks,

Yeah, that is not too good. For every 100 people that visit your opt in page, you should get at least 5-15 opt ins. If not, then you need to test different headlines and see which one does the better job.

It is all about testing, testing, and testing till you see great opt in conversions.

I like it. Now you have to simply focus on driving traffic to it to test out the conversion and such. Great job by taking action

The squeeze page is pretty bad, but hey, I've seen worse. You should give yourself credit though for getting a real client, creating a campaign, buying ads, getting conversions, and asking for help. That's far more than most people reading this do, and the truth is, it's the way I've made a lot of my money over the years. Kind of like affiliate marketing, but without the hassle of a CPA or affiliate network. Direct clients can make you a lot of cash!

I would probably start split-testing different elements, like add a headline based on one of the benefits in the video (Money in 48 hours; If you have equity, we'll get you cash; Bad-credit Refi; that sort of thing). Test them all and more.

I'd also reformat the form and as suggested above, include some graphics, change (or delete) the video, use a different layout, move stuff above the fold, etc. If you just keep adding split-test elements to the mix, you'll quickly see what works and what doesn't. I bet you could easily double the conversion with a little effort.

FB may be a great place to advertise, I'm not really sure for that market. However, a 1% conversion can work based on the CPC and per-lead payout. There's a lot of geo-targeted Canada traffic available if you look around. As you improve your conversion with tweaks, you'll want to tap into that.

    Good start.

Seeing as this is the guy who basically invented the "squeeze page" way back when, I'd be paying close attention to his advice FIRST. I can't even imagine what Jonathan's consulting rate is, but I'm sure it isn't cheap and you just got free advice from him.

It's so nice to see some legitimate guys around the forum helping out. :-)

its certainly a start but i would def change a few things

    1. include a good headline with some power words
    2. include your opt in box above the fold
    3. include bullet points
4.include a better looking web form
    5. make the video box smaller

these are things which i would straight away but as you make changes make sure you split test to see changes have a positive impact

Great job in getting as far as you have...

      I agree...
      Powerful Headline is a must...
      Above the Fold

One thing I did not see mentioned...you get paid for the information you collect...right? Not when they go to the site and fill out the form?

So if that is correct...the video is working against you...it has a nice feel to it but what it says at the end is

"Its easy...Just fill out this information"

...then it shows a form that doesn't match the form on your page...

      total disconnect...

where does that form go to when they fill it out?

I just bought Optmize Press today...no affiliation...

It is perfect for what you are doing...costs $97 dollars but I think its worth it...
especially if you are paying for your traffic...

In order to make a profitable campaign everything has to line up...

Intent of traffic...=...page they land on...=...what they were looking for...=
      increased conversions.

Shaun pretty much said the important stuff but I would also bring the optin form at the same level as the video to the right of the video and widen the page. Also you need a more eye catching optin with a bright orange "belcher" button (proven to help conversions). You are asking for too much info in the optin but if it's a CPA offer where you get paid for info there's not much you can do then. I would add some good sales copy that highlights what's in the video (after you change it a bit) for people that like to skim information. (give them a reason to optin without watching the video.

In the video, point out their pain, tell them why your the best at relieving that pain, then offer them a way to get relief.

Maybe make the video autoplay, so your visitors won't have to click the play button in order to watch the video.

Also, I would make the signup form visible right away without having to scroll down.

Brilliant advice already, but here's my thoughts.

You need to have a headline, and I would shrink the video so that you get the opt-in form to the right of the video. Perhaps using autoplay would help?

The biggest thing that would prevent me giving you my details would be that I don't know who you are, and what company you represent? Does the company who you're generating leads for allow you to use their logo?

Also are you sure that facebook is the right traffic source? Could you buy some banner advertising at popular canadian financial sites?

Lots of things here for you to test, so good luck.

See Shaun OReilly comment above. Further notes from a squeeze expert

I would never input my information into that page because it has to do with financing and is not secure, further, it does not have a professional look in terms of the form itself.

I would also host the video on Amazon's cloud, it will cost but it beats having people redirected to Utube because they clicked the video frame.

Not to be harsh on you, I just want you to save money because Facebook ads are ridiculously expensive. Get a headline.

Remember when asking for the information that you are you need trust. In order to establish that I would follow my above tips and Shaun's.

A theme plays a big role in converting your traffic to real customers... Modify the presentation of your page & you can real do wonders via your page... It has a nice look at the moment & can be little bit modified in terms of layout of the video & optin...

This will really bring new results, that's for sure ...

Wow thanks everyone for the support! This is a real eye opener.

Right now I'm using infusionsoft and its basic sign up form tool for the squeeze page. I'm thinking the best option maybe to have a better one designed (So far I have been quoted a crazy amount of money to have a video squeeze page done).

So I have made a few changes.
-Added a headline (this will be split tested)
-I moved the form above the bullet points
    -I removed the tweet button.
You can see it here at private.canada-mortgage-centre.ca

I have been using FB ads because I have contracts with specific areas in Canada and am working to expand to more so I need my traffic to come from specific areas until I have clients across the country.

I would be willing to pay someone a fair amount to have a professional squeeze page built if any one is interested.

Right now I currently can't use auto play or host outside of youtube because its not a function with infusionsofts web form builder. (I can have a full squeeze page built and hosted else where and integrate the form into infusionsoft though).

    Thanks Again,
    Brad

Good to see that your squeeze page is improving.

      Regarding Infusionsoft's web-form builder, I wouldn't
let that tie you to using YouTube.

You're better off hosting your video somewhere like
Amazon S3 so that your video loads quickly for your
visitors (and doesn't contain any 'leaks' to YouTube).
