You think Yahoo Answers is worth it's time and effort to answer questions within your niche to get traffic to your site and eventually, or hopefully, generate sales?

I have tried. I think the time is bad spent. Article writing and SEO are more effective..

Of course if you come up with a great solution to a specific question many searches, then you will get some laser targeted traffic to your site..

Yes, it can work and you don't even have to spam!

First, make sure your profile leads users back to your website. Second, provide helpful answers. If your answer is good then the poster will check out your profile and see your link.

there is two ways to make money on Answers

    1. actually provide good answers and build up a reputation

    2. Post a question and ask one of your IM buddies to provide an answer with a backlink to your site.

    easy breezy..

Established webmaster since 1998. Bought my first domain name for $70 and had to pay $1000 a month for hosting. It was the good life

Number one is the only way to do it.

Number two is a sure fire way to get both accounts banned. I think Yahoo figured out the old IP tracking trick long ago. They're also hip to proxies...

I have a pretty high level on YA and tried some years ago to drive traffic from it to my websites. Have to say I was unsuccessful. I've read posts by a few who say they are able to make it work, but don't personally know anyone who has.

Even if you write good answers, you will soon find that one "special" person who decides to report you based on your link. Then, all of your hard work goes down the drain.

Yahoo Answers is a tough one to pull... Answers get reported, links get ghosted, accounts banned. But if you have methods to overcome that, it can be a nice way to drive traffic for sure, as YA rank almost instantly for easy long-tail KW's given the enormous authority they have in Google's eyes.

Q&A platforms are very good to get niche related traffic. Because many people are looking for answer and if you are able to make them satisfied with your answer with your url in source box. They will visit your site for sure.
