In my experience, that's a little slow on the start, but that all depends on your niche. If you're getting 100 UV/s a day, its not bad, but it's not the best. You should really do some keyword research and see what your ranking for, and how many searches happen for those particular keywords then compare that to your current statistics. Thanks - just I thought it would be considered bad given I hear of many sites getting 10,000+ uniques a month etc.

I've never really understood the ranking and keyword part to be honest. As far as I'm aware is it as simple as choosing a word with low competition and high search and popularizing it on the site?

Those numbers are great considering its a two month old website. The 600 % increase over the previous month is on its peak. Put more new issues on drugs that are effective, less costly, its usage and benefits will add more traffic on your websites. Good luck

To answer your question though, it really depends on how you're driving traffic and what keyword(s) you're targeting. Not so much to do with the site's general topic which you mentioned was pharmacology.

With just the topic of the site it's impossible to say if those are optimal numbers...but what can be said is 100 unique visitors a day is definitely enough to start making something.

If it's search engine traffic (I get the feeling it's not, but you didn't mention) then you'll know exactly what to make of the figures based on what kind of traffic the keyword(s) you're ranking for are capable of delivering.

Sites generating 10,000+ unique visitors a month (from search at least) can do that because first off, they're targeting a keyword(s) capable of delivering that kind of traffic.

Is the traffic from search or some other source?

Yes, it would be nice to know where you are getting your traffic from. The numbers are way above the average for a new website. Keep it going and growing. Oh, and by the way, take that bloody social sharing floating button off the side of your pages. It's very distracting and unprofessional for the niche you're in. Okay, that's just my opinion, but it's very annoying

@ JayParker; That's the thing - I'm increasing traffic daily but I've no idea how to effectively monetize this type of site, it being an educational site at that. My knowledge of this type of thing is very low and as you can see, it's only been a few weeks since I've tried to even increase traffic. It's difficult to know which are the most effective ways to monetize this site, at least for me, maybe others here or yourself have ideas?

@ Chris Reeves; Traffic appears to come from a combination of search, social media, blogs and so forth - the general recommendations and all that. I haven't been posting on fora on other sites either yet which is apparently another area I should look into even though the sites I look at do not allow signatures to appear with links to your site. I want to 'rank' my website highly but I'm unsure as to how to do this effectively.

@ Retsced; I was hoping to increase my Facebook Likes because for some reason I'm struggling to increase it even though my Twitter following has several hundred. I agree it's a bit distracting, I'll remove it later and try to think of other methods to increase my Facebook status.

Thanks again for the replies - as you can see most of my replies are mostly 'I don't know's' simply because I'm totally unsure of the answers given the vast amount of info out there on this stuff - sort of confusing tbh. Learning though ;-)

As for the OP above who mentioned getting emails. I was thinking of blocking off my main articles as 'Registered Users only' type thing...but worried people wouldn't be bothered and traffic would decrease? Am I looking at this too pessimistically and would it be a good idea? Cheers

If the site you are speaking for is the one you have in your signature i will give you 2 advices
1. why the homepage ends at com/wp/? it should be .com!
2. you should change your permalinks to post name! much better for seo MUCH
also you could fill the white space at the right with some clickbank product if you want to make some extra$

by the way your numbers are very good for start

Appreciate the comments. I'll look into the /wp/ later - I'm not sure how to remove it as it's a redirect thing I think (??).

Traffic does not matter if you do not convert. However, it seems like you have targeted traffic, so it should be easier to convert.

Here are a few ideas:

1. Use Google ads while you figure put your plan of action.

2. Create a plan. To do this poll your readers to find put what theywant to know more about. This could be tied into your email marketing efforts.

3. Take action on your plan and use put the best way to monetize your site.

Basic, but effective. It just takes time to do, which is whyost people never do it.

Yes - I'll try and put Google Ads around the site - I just don't want to make it look crammed but don't want to do less either - so I need to strategically place them I guess - any recommendations?

I'll definitely take into consideration polling readers, appears to be excellent marketing strategy.

is your wordpress installed in the root folder? or its in thehealthsphere/wp/ folder?

if you change your permalings now you will loose traffic from google untill your new links will be indexed again in google

You are not selling ANYTHING!

You should not be looking at numbers at your current stage. I'm
not preaching, but telling it as it is from experience. Your traffic
has two stages...

1) The qualification round

Is your traffic targeted to your offer? If it's mismatched to your
message, your offer, your product or even your niche... then
start focusing on higher quality traffic, or conversions will
become a painful sore in the ass.

2) The scaling-up round

When you're positive that the kind of traffic you're driving is
converting well for your offer... then well, scaling up matters.

Quality > Quantity!

And I really do not mean leaving quantity alone. Quantity comes
after you've confirmed a healthy conversion rate.

good work...not bad for just starting out.

Looking at your site, I find the social media share bar to be annoying. When you scroll it stays with you, which is fine, BUT it covers up the content on your site...try moving it out further so it does not overlap content.
