I want to setup a forum to help with support of a product that I am developing. This forum would be private and only available to members. I've looked at phpBB and it looks promising, but I was wondering what other folks use for support related questions for products they are selling. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -Brad |

I am using vbulletin. I am doing support with it but also building a community at the same time. | |

Thanks, Thomas. One other question that I had was around auto creating accounts. I will be selling the software via E-Junkie and would like to have a forum account created on the fly. Do you know if vbulletin supports that? |

I agree with Thomas and Jeff about Vbulletin. It may not be free but if you ever decide not to use it anymore, it has a great resell value and you can sell it quite easy on places like webhostingtalk.com and get 75-80% of your investment back. |

My main driver for using E-Junkie is managing the affiliate program. I am not interested in managing that part of the business. I like the PayPal option, but not the PayPal fees. E-Junkie offers the option of a monthly fee that is way cheaper than PayPal. After reviewing vbulletin, yeah I agree it is the superior product IMO. The ultimate would be to have E-Junkie handle payment and affiliate end of things and then create the forum accounts and email those to my customers. |

Jeff, good point as I didn't realize that you had to supply your choice of payment processors. I will give Amember a look as well. |
