Clickbank.. Really Weird.. Hope I'm Not Losing Sales Because Of This

This is really strange. To tell you the story, here's what I emailed Clickbank today:

======================================

Hi,

I was wondering if I could ask some help.

I'm going to promote a Clickbank vendor's product. I tested my affiliate link and my username shows up in the [affiliate=] at the bottom of the Clickbank order page.

No problem with that. But I was shocked when the vendor tested my affiliate link (the very same aff link I used) and he said this appeared at the bottom of the order page:
[affiliate = None: Blocked due to Terms of Service violation]

I'm carefully following the rules, so I was shocked when he informed me about this. The other thing is that this could be happening to my other prospects, and I could be losing lots of sales because of this.

I would really appreciate it if you can give me a clear explanation as to why this happens, and how I can be assured of getting all of my affiliate commissions tracked.

Thanks so much,
Michael

======================================

Anyone have a clue?

Thanks,
Michael

Create a new clickbank account and change your link. That should solve the problem.

All this news about Clickbank is really worrying... my sales have plummeted dramatically also.

Saying 'Easy - get a new account' is all well and good, but it's kinda missing the point - if this is the way around it, then there are some massive problems that aren't going away any time soon.

Sometimes it is not as easy as just opening another clickbank account. I ran into this problem with Linkshare a couple of times and the problems is that often with links across the internet you just do not have control or the traceability to change all the links.

There is sometimes a sporadic miss as far as the Clickbank link goes, I have not experienced it I think but enough people on enough boards have mentioned it.

Maybe being a publisher has even one more small advantage.

I'm confused as to why you don't see that message but the vendor does. It doesn't make sense that you as the promoter wouldn't see the message as well as get an email notice if it was true. Would you PM me your CB ID so I can look?

    Thanks,

    Gene

    Mike:

Problem could be the affiliate in question. If you were violating clickbanks tos, they would shut down your account, right?

Wow that's tough... you should definitely do what 1bad55 says and create a new account... run the same test as you did, but this time take screenshots of the process.

If you get the same results under a new account then there's definitely a problem with CB. At least with screenshots you can SHOW THEM how their screwing up.

If the "print screen" button doesn't do it for you... here's screenhunter.

    Hey guys,

I asked some friends from different countries to check out my [affiliate=] and they all said my CB username is intact. So that's good. So it's still a mystery how I got a different message from one person.

    Thanks,

Honestly, one person? How would you feel if someone asked a similar question on
such a big forum like this one ... questioning let's say... your company ... based on
      one opinion?

Yes, since the start of Mar, my conversions have dropped drastically. My products were converting at 50 to 70 hops but during the past 14 days, it has dropped to 200 to 300 hops. This is ridiculous!

I promote a wide range of products and own many Clickbank accounts. It is happening across all of them so I am not sure if creating a new Clickbank account helps.

Can you guys pls share your experience?

It just gets worse doesn't it?

My sales are moving up pretty steadily, so I'm fat and happy.

Oh no, but don't ask me how much I COULD potentially be losing due to all this shenanigans.
