Wich domain name you like better for my blog?

Hey guys,

I have a blog about weight gain/bodybuilding and currently use fitlifeskills.com domain. But I've found that builtguy.com is not used and decided to buy it. So which one sounds better for my niche?

Builtguy.com is definately easier to remember, however, you are cutting out 50% of the population with that one. The site, fitlifeskills.com is gender-neutral. If you are planning on marketing only to males, then I sugges builtguy.com; if you are marketing to females as well, then go with fitlifeskills.com.

    Peace,

    Roey.

I think fitlifeskills is too ambiguous (unless I was selling the Fit for Life program). If my niche is bodybuilders wanting to bulk up, I would choose builtguy.com. It's to the point, and is what (I assume) they'd aspire to be.

Have you considered posting your question on a bodybuilding forum and see what "built guys" actually think... Not being a built guy, I couldn't assume to know how one would think .

Best of luck with your blog.

      Cheers,
      M

        Thanx for votes and comments!

My niche is weight GAIN niche not weight loss niche. It's WAYYYY smaller than weight loss niche I guess. MY blog is for those skinny guys who want to gain muscle and look good.

Other thing is I've already started fitlifeskills.com but it's still unknown to masses so I could actually change it easily now to builtguy.com

You should use the one that is a good keyword based on your keyword rersearch.
Make sure it has a good ranking with low competition as if you were looking for a keyword for a article.....

Hope this helps if you need help IM me

If you are marketing weight gain for men then builtguy would be better.

If your market is for women & men the fitlifeskills

However if it is for men to become a built guy then maybe BeABuiltGuy.com might even be better.

I know that doesn't help much but it is what I would do.

I like fitlifeskills better. It is gender neutral. BuiltGuy might be better for the male population and not the female.

I broke the tie by voting for builtguy.com. You might not get the visitors you were hoping to target, but that domain name will pull in traffic from a certain demographic. I don't think I need to elaborate. Simple as that.

    fitlifeskills.com
allows for expansion in the future and you can cover a wider range of subjects if needed as time goes on. it also has a great sound and potentially nice resale value.
you can target different audiences with content and keywords, domain name is important yes, but people don't type in fitlifeskills.com they type in what they are looking for

At a glance, I choose builtguy.com but thinking of a looooooooooooong term fitlifeskills.com is much better.

    My two cents runs thus:

The first instant I read the name fitlifeskills.com, I thought "exercise and weight loss" and "Going to teach me how to lead a healthy lifestyle".

The first instant I read the name builtguy.com, I thought "gay porn".

Now, I don't claim to be in any way representative of your target market, and you must admit that even if you go with the second name and attract a number of visitors with the same initial thought I had, there is some subset of them who will be interested in what you are selling.

    I don't know, I don't fall into either category.

If you are stuck with one of the two names you suggest, I would personally go with fitlifeskills.com.

If you are still able to set things up on another domain, I agree with mlandmark, and buy a domain that is more specific to what you are offering, which also includes your most effective keyword.

    Hope that helps.

Success is an endless series of falling down and getting back up again. Sometimes, you fall a little less. Sometimes, you fall a little more. Keep getting back up. Keep moving forward.

You know, truthfully I don't like either name. These names are cute, catchy and zippy, but for different reasons than your target niche. The first name doesn't quite nail down what you're doing or what's in the site, and the second name sounds like guy-on-guy, so be careful what people's first impressions can be.

You need to define that target and get some keywords in the domain name, and if you can, switch to the new and improved domain name. If your niche is bodybuilding then the keywords could be switched to give you a long-tail keyword for your domain like 'build that body' or muscle building hobby or a million other words that are more descriptive than what you're using now.

Side benefit--google loves key word domains...

If you're currently 'stuck' with one, use the 'fit' one, I say. But if you're not stuck, do the research and dump these for new domains.

You can also regenerate the two you have into blogs or feeder links or sell them or give a flip with adsense content.

So, my main question is are you doing research in forums for what bodybuilders look for? What did you learn? This works for every niche--go back to your market and take your direction from what the market wants and needs.

Good luck--and let us know what you end up with!

I am in your niche and doing fairly well. I actually like the fitlifeskills.com name as it seems more serious and mature. I would visit that site and not expect to see adultfriendfinder banners. builtguy.com has a spammy kinda ring to it and on first glance it really could be a gay porn site (as another poster mentioned).

Actually neither one really tell you much.

Buildguy? you need something more to explain it's a body building site.

fitlifeskills? this can be anything from healthy eating to exercise, etc.

Sorry, you asked, but that's my opinion.
