Help with list building strategy

Hi guys

I would like to start building a list for my tutorial site - however I'd like some advice on how to implement.

Should I start with a Wordpress plugin to aggregate the addresses, and then import to a premium service like aweber; or should I just start with the premium service to build a quality list from the get-go?

One concern I had was users having to opt-in again when I switched to a sturdier system. Basically Im looking for the most efficient way to roll out this plan from the start

Many thanks

I would suggest you start right away with Aweber, and the reason is because if you use another email service or use the Wordpress plugin when you want to import to Aweber they would send an email to confirm the subscription and you would lose many subscribers that way. Anyway it's just $19 bucks a month and great investment if you want a long term relationship with your readers.

My investigations on this issue were leading toward this conclusion, and your post confirms this. Appreciated.

If anyone has further tips, I'd love to hear more

Never start off with something that is FREE or offers very little customer support etc.

My 2 recommendations are GetResponse or Aweber.

These two services are by far the best in the e-mail marketing industry.

They cost very little to start off with so for less than $20 a month you can build a list of up to 1000 subscribers.

Hope this helps and all the best with your future efforts!!!

I will further agree with the comments above.

When building something as absolutely fundamental as your email list it is of absolute necessity that you use the right tools, right from the beginning.

If you don't do that it can be very costly when looked at from the long term.

Another important thing to think about is how to collect your opt-ins. Viper Chill sell some really cool WordPress Optin forms that are totally customizable and may be exactly what you're looking for to build your list.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,
    Kenneth

    Agree with the posts above.

You have to decided the right autoresponder service from the beginning, I have wrong in deciding which autoresponder service that it makes me waste my money and also waste my list that I've built.

So make sure you use the right auto responder right from the beginning. It will save much much for you in long term. Good luck.

    Anyway, nice website.
