What do you think of this Strategy?

Hi all,

I recently started to think of a plan to funnel in some money.

My plan is to start with a post that is has some affiliate links within the content itself.

In fact, if you look at the article below in my sig, that is the one. Have a look at it.

I was thinking to strategically target traffic to the article. I was thinking of buying some ad spaces on a wordpress-related blog.

What do you think of it?

Also would solo ads work for an article. I was thinking solo ads work mostly for growing your email list, but would it work for some sales through an article.

Please let me know what you guys think.

I think that there are no limits to IM Try it, if it doesn't work. Change things re-test. That sounds like a solid plan.

It sounds like a good strategy and the site looks good, have you thought about putting an opt-in form in the sidebar and at the bottom of the article? Then have a follow up sequence with your affiliate links and content. I think you'd get better conversions that way.

I'm sure you know this webtolight and have heard it over and over... but I'll say it again:

No one can tell you what will work or won't work - EVER. Got an idea? Test it out, see if it works.

Set aside some time & money to always be testing new ideas and new angles on old ideas. Test, test, test!

I have heard of that many times

I do agree testing is the most important thing to do. But I just wanted to make sure just a bit

Excellent idea about a sign up option. I always find that links in emails are more likely to be clicked upon.

I just took a look at your site as well. I agree with Dan - be sure to have an opt-in so you can build your list on the right hand side at the top (valuable real estate). Offer a free PLR report or something.

Also I took a look at your post. Instead of just the graphic for each affil. offer post your own review of each. I did this with some books on a site I owned and the books that had my own review on them sold extremely well - the ones without didn't even get a click.

Its the Word of Mouth effect. If you gave a review then obviously you took the time and are an expert in this area. You will get more clicks & commissions.

I agree so much with you. That I will do that with each plugin.

They see that you took time to describe each plugin and are more apt to buy because of it.

    You've got the right idea.

It's a good idea and could work with a large amount of traffic. The only question I have is do the blogs you plan on advertising on have a large amount of traffic?

The CTR on most ads are pretty low unless the owner of the website is specifically going out of their way to get them to click on your ad (like you would for your affiliate links)

So I feel like it probably just wouldn't bring enough traffic to make profit. PPC is relatively the same thing you're getting at now so if you find that your website converts well you may want to take a dip into the PPC pool

The only right answer is to test and see the results, I'm sure you are going to learn from the experience and it would make you a better marketer.

I like it... Give it a go. Looks good and sound. You may want to ad an optin with some free stuff so you can build a list but looks like a good start.

I wouldn't use solo ads for an article. Solo ads should generally only be sent to a squeeze page or a landing page. Buying ad space could work well for you, that's something I would definitely test out.

Try it, it could work. It's easy to talk to yourself and come up with reasons why something won't work. Many things I have tried in IM, that I thought wouldn't work, ended up working
