How many websites can you have at once?

I have ideas for about 5 or 6 different niche sites but I was wondering if it would really be possible to juggle 6 different sites and have quality content updated on them each week. What do you think?

I think it would be hard unless you plan to outsource or have guest posts. If I were you I'd start with one or two and go from there.

It's possible but start with one and go from there. Don't do all 6 at the same time. You'll have a better idea of how things are going to go when you have one or two built.

Start with one. You can also start another one later.

It's easier to work out the kinks with the first one and avoid making the same mistakes with the others.

Depends on how hard you want to work and your personal work ethic. Ask your self How much time do you plan on spending on each site. Does that time allow you to find quality content for each site. Will I be wasting alot of energy on one site while another gets little or no attention.

Sure some people handle more than 1or 2 sites at a time. If trying to deal with 6 or 7 sites you might have two many sites to jugle. It realy depends on you. Also you may need to out source to keep up with multiple sites.

I'd start with one, or if you have extra cash you could build more by paying other people to do it for you.

You really need to start with one site. Start out with the one that you have an interest in and not a little something about -- even if it's not the most profitable. Your first site usually isn't. It's more important that you get the process down. Once you start making money in it, then you can consider moving into another niche. You don't want to get overwhelmed or start a bunch of sites at once -- only to find you've made the same mistakes on all of them.

I made the mistake earlier this year of having about a dozen sites up, each having been given about a third of the effort it takes to make them successful. Definitely work on one at a time, moving on when one becomes profitable.

You might also find that you make critical SEO mistakes on the one you're working on (spammy link building, keyword stuffing, etc.). It's easier to fix one site or move on to another with a better plan than it is to deal with six failing sites.

Remember that you also have to do stuff to promote your sites to get traffic, from article marketing or press releases to bookmarking, Tweeting, and lots more. So that will keep you busy too.

At least stagger it a bit. Start with one site, and get things rolling, then start the next one, etc. And it'll all go easier and faster once you got the routine down.

I believe having fewer sites will give you better results than having lots of sites.

Ever heard of the book "The Tipping Point"? It's about the spread of ideas. I've seen the theory work for sites too. Once your site gets big, it can sustain itself and even grow by itself much better than a tiny site can. The best way to get your sites that big is to focus on fewer (but larger) sites. Instead of having more (but smaller) sites.
