Content for autoresponder sequence?

Hey,

So far Imy autoresponder sequence is spaced out 12 days with 5 emails, but I keep reading on the WarriorForum of other people who have theirs spaced out for 40 to 90 days!

I was wondering where do you find the content for your emails?

My plan is to cover a free tip in screen capture form....

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

What are you trying to achieve with these emails?

Is it a type of newsletter or is it a soap opera to get them to a sales page? Or is it an email campaign for a launch?

But in general, you should try to put 70-80% content and 10-20% selling or hinting at a product. Tease your prospects and make sure that you leave them wanting for more.

A great way to do that - is to say something along the lines of "I also have this technique that I'm going to tell you about in the next email because the concept is too big to explain in one email...anyways (finish concept on current email)"

You have to keep everything interesting... and the reason why you have to deliver so much content is because if you sell once... that's enough to drop at least half of your audience because they'll expect it. Your emails lose value and they will delete every email you send.

Hopefully this is helpful, but on to your main question...

Go on the forums of your target market. Get on google and do google news and put in keywords for google alert. Find blogs about your niche and look at what they say and especially at the comment section.

BUT FIRST OF ALL, make a survey and send it to your prospects and provide an incentive. Ask them questions about what they prefer to hear from you... what they are confused about... what they need help on.. and anything that gives you enough to work with.

Heck this may even lead to answers that will help you make killer products.

    Anyways, that's my .02

    Hope that helps!

This is more of a longterm list. Where I can go to if and write a quick email and make money but also provide value.

First go ahead and join some lists in your niche of sites you believe are successful. Check out their auto-responder series.

To answer your question directly - Just be sure to give value when you are also asking for the sale. Auto-responders are also called lead nurture programs. Meaning you nurture the lead over time before asking for cash. Its like your first date with a girl - you don't pick her up at the front door and immediately try to kiss her (some do - just be prepared for the slap - in auto-responder world that means an unsubscribe!).

    Hi Edwin,

Do you have a blog? Use the best content and show it off to new subscribers.

With a blog good content can get lost, so when someone new joins your list what's old news to you may be the best thing ever to them.

It's also a good way to build relationships, getting people used to seeing your brand is a good thing, and also with the links in the sidebar and scattered across the blog you can passively sell to them whilst educating them = win-win.

5 emails over a 40 to 90 day period is way too long.

People will quickly forget about who you are what you do.

I've proven that time and time again over the years I've been doing this.

      At a minimum I have 7 emails (but usually I have a schedule of 21) .

The first 7 emails I send out over 21 days. ( about 1 every 3 days to keep prospect interest up - 90% content, 10% soft pitch for my products

The next batch of 7 email is send out over 30 days. Same content mix.

The third batch of 7 emails also sent over 30 days. Same content mix.

      That covers about 90 days.

That whole process has worked well for me for years.

It's a lot of work writing all the emails, but it's so worth it.

One thing I do know, prospects hate emails that are only ever just product pitch after product pitch.

I mean, I sometime get 4 product pitches a day from other WF members.

And that's just plain crazy to treat valuable subscribers that way.

Hope that helps in some way

Try to solve problems and answer questions with your autoresponder sequence.

That is what I do in my squeeze page follow up.

Wordtracker has got a free tool showing you what kind of questions people ask in different niches and how many ask these questions.

Look for a WSO on here called Copy Conquest by Adil Amarsi. Its got a few days left I think.

It gives a great explanation of what you are asking.

You can just search for it in the warrior special offers forum.

    cheers

You dont need a long email. Write about a 250-300 word email distilling tips and implementing good copywriting tactics. Content for autoresponder sequence should come from your expertise within the niche.
