    Don't do that ..

i will not take anything special to get the honest review and testimonials..
just give some warriors the review copies (10 or 20 is enough)and ask for testimonials, and post all the testimonials on you sales page. it can boost your sales dramatically

When I started my service here a few months ago, I had no reviews and I had no problem whatsoever getting enough orders to make me happy. I also displayed no samples of my work (I'm a writer though...graphics design is a little different). Now I have 2 WFH threads and a WSO thread full of great reviews on what I offer to people.

I never Realized that this might happen ??
People get the review copies and never come back with reviews ??

Yups I agree now that was the HORRIBLE ADVICE

But still reviews works, and to get them you can give them to trusted members or friends here ...

When it comes to graphic design type services, people are almost always going to want to see a portfolio of your work. It stands to reason that if you are a good graphic designer you would have some examples you can show people.

Personally I wouldn't bother listing your service until you have a decent portfolio to show people. There are heaps of graphic designers on this forum ( a lot of them cheap and awesome) and you are competing against all of them.

Ahh, well that shouldn't be a problem. Personally if I am looking to get graphic work done (and I do quite often) I would be much more interested in seeing your previous work rather than reviews. Having both would be great but your portfolio should be more than enough to get you some initial jobs and then the reviews will follow naturally.

Will's opinions are usually bang on the money, and I pretty much agree with his sentiments. However, I also feel that due to the competition you will have from established people on this forum I personally would be likely to skip your thread until I saw some reviews from others.

This is a personal opinion of course, even if your portfolio of past work looked good, so do many others. The customer service/ client reviews are what would probably make the difference between me going to you or choosing someone else.

However, I do agree with Will that you should start getting some orders coming in, and the reviews should follow suit.

Agree with WillR, you have to go with enough portfolio to ensure that you deserve to get more clients.

And you may need some review.

Whenever I hire someone from WF. I read the reviews very thoroughly. If you are just starting out you should definitely give out few review copies first. If you don't want to give the review copies for free and you can provide a good discount for 1st few buyers and over deliver them.

But once you have few good reviews, you will be getting many more customers.

To get quick sales for your service:
    - find out the going prices for your service on the forum
    - and do a limited time offer promo at a lower price.
    - Do an excellent job and you will have a lot of clients in a short time.

I personally think reviews are overrated.

Don't let a lack of reviews hold you back. Start selling. Sure you want have as good of a conversion v. having reviews but you will at least get the money going. Then get those people to review you.

As long as you've got a portfolio you should be making a good amount of sales sans les reviews.

I don't like the idea of review copies, either, so I decided not to offer it. If I'm going to spend my time on something like that, why would I give it away for free? If people like my work and like my writing then they will leave me a review anyway, surely? I know that when I've been happy with someones service I've left them a good review and have never been asked to.

But, then again, I haven't had any bites yet, so...

      Hang your shingle out already...

Warrior Special Offers Forum (You need a War Room subscription before you can post WSOs)

      Warrior Forum Classified Ads

      Warriors For Hire

And put your offer in your signature file.

If your goal is to introduce your services to Warrior Forum members, make them an irresistible offer.

Just get your order button out there. Worry about reviews once you get some.

For this kind of work, you don't need reviews. You just need examples of your work. Many of the reviews here are garbage or just part of a circle-jerk of marketers anyhow.

Post examples in your sales thread. If the work is good and the price is right, you should be fine.

Definitely have a portfolio at hand. Clients wants to see what you're offering and how good your skills are. I always look at people's portfolios first before anything and if the work and art is attractive and it catches my eye, then I would definitely consider them.

Reviews are good too but if you don't have any from Warrior, you could put non-warrior reviews from your previous clients to back up your work. A grand opening kind of promotion could be an option too as mentioned since you can offer like the 1st three clients your services at a discount and if they like it, they could leave you review as well.

Be very careful if offering review copies.

You are much better off approaching someone that is active on the forum and is talking about your topic.

I have also been burned by giving away review copies of a service or product, then those people not actually posting a review anyway.

Now the only "free copies" I give out are to people I approach directly.

Put together a website or page that contains case studies of your previous clients. This is a must.

You could always sell your services on Fiverr, and use the good feedback from there to include in your sales letter for your services here on the warrior forum.
