Now I know what it feels like to have this happen when...

...my blog post gets blatantly stolen by another author.

LOL

Honestly, I think that's kinda cool. Although they didn't link back to me nor even give me credit or mention my name at all, I just feel kinda flattered that some guru thought my content was badass enough for them to post it on their site. I will take the matter into my own hands but as unethical and unguru-like as it was, I actually thought it was pretty funny.

Although I still don't agree with the gesture, I'm sure there are other content I wrote that's been ripped off by someone and it's not like could bother tracking them all down.

What I'm trying to do now is to laced a bit of my article sections with my own name as a keyword and see if any lazy *******s would accidentally copy and paste it too without editing it lol.

In any case, thought it was a learning experience to share.

It happened to me last 2008.
Not only 1 person but many of them.
I learned so in my next posts, I first post some drafts with internal links. Once they posted the drafts in their blogs, I fully edited the posts...
Since they are lazy to edit to remove my internal links, I got loads of backlinks..

That trick only works for idiots who aren't lazy to edit the content haha.

Lol, the article that I did that was ripped did have some internal links within the content, but they removed it despite I had lines like "this post here" or "my previous article here" which linked to my other resources - made them look really stupid for not linking to anything.

That's against rule #1 of the forum in the Forum Rules.

@OP - just send their host a dmca takedown notice.

These incidents are pretty common in the internet nowadays. There is a way that some websites can control copy-pasting. There are some websites that can't be copied no matter what you do. Therefore, you must typewrite all of the content before you can really re post it somewhere. I don't know how this is done, but it's a good start to protect content. Just a thought. :-)

Anyway, the best way (as most have mentioned) is to have some sort of links embedded within your content so that it's easier to prove that the original is yours.
