How to undo previous errors, keep the content and change the domain name

Hi,
I have a site that I started maybe 6 months ago. I have read and applied to many things and I lost my google rankings because of it (I think). This is what I've done
* Article marketing (trying to use slightly different anchor texts)
* On page SEO for my keywords (long tail)
* Backlinking from fiver (I know, big mistake but I only did 200 backlinks and most of them never showed up as a backlink anyway)
* 10 - 12 web 2.0 sites with spun articles and backlinks to my site
* Backlinking with unique article wizard to my anchor layer of sites (I only did this for a month, it is way to expensive for me even though I did see some results)

I got hit by google updates a few times but now I only see my site on bing (tracking with market samurai) and a little in yahoo. I am indexed so probably sandboxed again on google?

After realizing that nothing is as easy as many internet marketers claim I have come to the conclusion that this is what I want to do:
* Pick out a new domain name for my site as I know now the exact kind of visitor I'd like to attract and the domain name must give a better hint on who the site is for.
* Use most of my old content. It can always get better but it is ok and some of it will be used as corner stone content that I will promote on a get-started page or resources page.
* Reuse my content but not get penalized by google for it
* Reuse my ezine articles (mainly) - hubpages, squidoo and a few wordpress sites can easily be updated to reflect a domain change.
* Really create an authority site for my target audience, I'm willing to stick with it and progress slowly.

So, what's the best way of doing this given my sites history and that I have probably got a smack from google for my behaviour? Transferreing the entire WP site to a new domain and do a permanent redirect or start a new site from scratch? If I start from scratch, how can I reuse my content?

Thank you for any advice, I don't want to do more mistakes when I restart my project.
