Hundred Niches Mainteinance

Hi there,
it's Joe here,
I've read that some people write (or spin) articles on many dozens of niche blogs.
My question is: Do these people write using their real name?

Would people trust you as an expert in both dating, SEO, marketing, gardening, toothpastes, nails and travels?

Or do you use fake names and fake photos of yourself for each niche?

Some do, although it's more common to use pen names for each niche.

    Not very likely.

Or do you use fake names and fake photos of yourself for each niche?
Oh, I would never do that. I use a real "pseudonym" and "persona portrait" for each of my 67 highly specialized niches.

Could you please give me an example of "pseudonym" and "persona portrait"?
I tried to google it but it's not very clear to me what "persona portrait" means. Do you mean that you use little mini photo of you from a point of view where it's difficult to recognize your face? or that you use drawings of you?
Also, if you use a pen name or pseudonym, how do you do with social networks? do you have 67 facebook accounts?

Here are some examples of pen names aka pseudonyms. Each niche in which I market has a very distinctive "persona" or branded writing style, which also is portrayed in photos on respective websites. This actually is a common and accepted marketing practice in a variety of online and offline media, although perhaps rather cumbersome for social networks.

They're nothing illegal nor does it involve deceptive marketing, but niche personified photos can significantly enhance conversion rates. Readers often have preconceived images of what an author "looks" like, and the closer a writer can meet this expectation along with a congruent writing style, the more effective it will be to make successful connections with the reading audience.

I have tested social networks for marketing, but for me it has never been worth my time compared to other promotional methods.

    Pseudonym = alternative (fake) name.

Persona Portrait = making up a fake personality.

I think the "hundreds of niches" style of creating sites is slowly but surely coming to an end. After the Penguin and Panda updates it is a lot less effective.

The best thing you can do, if you want to take advantage of having a personal touch and leveraging social networks, is to create an authority site on a topic that you genuinely are an expert on.

      Thanks kenneth,
      but this is off topic.

I am not saying I want to use social networks, I am just trying to understand how someone can manage 67 niches using pen names.
Does it mean that there is no photo of them on the websites, or there are mini photos, or fake photos or what?
Do they leverage on social networks or not? if yes, how???

Use pen names. Multiple niches under your real name can hurt your credibility if a customer decides to do a Google search on you, and find you in the gambling niche (for example).

Thanks Randall, if that is your real name
So, when you use pen names for your websites, do you attach a photo of yourself or not?
And do you use social networks? how?

I use my own name for IM-related stuff and a couple of other niches i happen to be very knowledgeable in, and I create different identies for everything else.

If i'm using my name, or some variation of it, i use a photo of me. If i have created a persona more suitable to the niche i'll use a bio and photo crafted specifically to deliver a more suitable impression of who that person is - it's more than just a name and photo though, there is a whole personality behind it.

As for managing 67 niches, i believe i've read that Myob has an entire company of staff, he's been at this for a very long time...

    ok John, thanks.
it may be because I am not english native speaker but I don't fully understand:
So when you say crafted photo, do you mean that for example if you have a niche for old people, you look for a photo of an old man on google and then you edit it with photoshop to make it look different ad you use it on your website/blog/product?

And what do you do with social networks, which name do you use on them?

Pretty much yes, if i am in a niche for old people where an old person would be more credible, then yes i'll use the persona of an old person. The photo wouldn't be taken from Google, but will come from a stock photography site where i buy the rights to use it, or it will be a friend or member of my family if they consent to me using their image

I don't do a whole lot of social networking on my niche sites, so this isn't much of an issue.

    Actually,
now that I think about it.
I understand the crafted photo, the pen name and the character as well and it's a really smart idea.
But what about TITLES of this new character?
    Do you sign
    John Smith Phd
or Dr.John Smith and the like?

and when you sell your ebooks, do you write Phd or Dr next to your pen name?
I understand that it makes us more money, but is it legal?
Surely we can have a pen name, but can you have a "pen title" as well??

I would not trust anyone who claimed to be an expert in all of those fields. I create fake profiles and make each of these individuals an expert in just one field.
