Welcome to the forum. Clickbank is certainly an obvious place to start for Newbies. Alexa Smith has many valuable threads on how to get started as an affiliate with clickbank which you can search for or she may come on here and link to them.

It is by no means the only way to make money as an affiliate, there's amazon, adsense etc. it really depends on what your goals are and how you want to achieve them. Clickbank also have a 60 no questions asked money back guarantee which some find frustrating.

First, Clickbank is a network -- not an affiliate program. With that said, there are a number of networks that you can choose from. Some networks are very general in nature and have affiliate programs for tons of niches while other are very narrow in their focus. The network and affiliate programs you sign up with depend a lot on what niche market you're in.

If you just go signing up with various networks and affiliate programs before you've done any research or have anything going for yourself (no commissions), you're account might eventually be closed if it's dormant for too long, Trust me, I speak from experience

The first thing you need to decide is what niche market you want to go into (dating, make money, learn guitar, gardening...). This will dictate what kinds of products you are going to promote. With some niches, you have the option to promote digital or physical products. Some niches lean towards one or the other.

For me, Amazon affiliate program is better for a newbie to start affiliate marketing. They convert better and not as competetive as Clickbank.

Personally anyone that will accept you. The main problem for any newbie is finding affiliates that are willing to except new sites or low visitor number. Just think first which products you can market the best.

I would recommend Linkshare. They are the best in my book (can't use Amazon bc I reside in NC)
Never missed a payment from them, always prompt. Customer service is great too.

ClickSure is a fairly new affiliate network but from what I have seen, they have some very high converting products available to affiliates.

I know that some of the biggest affiliates have been promoting some products from this platform so feel free to go and take a look.

Hope this helps and all the best!!!

I would check out JVNotifypro.com and check out the daily offers being put out there. Some of these offers run their own affiliate programs through infusion or other software.

I would say ultimately start with what you want to sell and then search for a product that matches your business. This way you are already developing content for what you enjoy writing about and everything is more natural. Just my take.

You can pretty much make money and take a commission on anything that can be sold online.

What is you interest/passion? What are you most knowledgable about?

I don't recommend Clickbank for beginners. I recommend WarriorPlus... you can make a lot of money promoting WSOs.

    Hi blastincome

It really depend on what you want to promote. I would say these options could be good choices:

    Clickbank, Commission Junction, Amazon.
Google Adsense if you have your own website with some traffic.
Consider going for offers that pay good commissions, best ones with recurring income.
If you dont have any experience, You should really look for some sort of basic affiliate training.

    Hi Blastinincome

I think you can gather from all the comments that most of the people are suggesting the same thing. Clickbank by far is the one of the best affiliate programs to use. It is really easy to use and navigate and there are thousands of products from several different categories available to promote. There is also another affiliate program that is picking up some steam and its called Clicksure. Very similar to Clickbank the only difference is that is it relatively new.

    Hope this helps

Hi Blastincome, There are a lots of affiliates networks out there. ClickBank is only one of them. It can be a starter for you.
You may check out Paydotcom, LinkShare, JVZoo, Commission Junction, Amazon....

    * Tips : Don't try to affiliate everything at once. Stick with one first, learn and familiar with the process, monetized from it and move on....

    Enjoy

For beginners I consider that the easiest to use affiliate program is Amazon - it only requires one acceptance (Commission Junction for example requires you to be accepted by every advertiser you want to promote).

ClickBank - I personally don't like it, it's full of low quality products and the ones that are good are too competitive.

Promoting WSOs - it is a good way to make money, but not very fit for a beginner if you don't have an list of subscribers to promote your affiliate offers.
