List building Newbie Question About Split Testing Advice Pls

Hi guy,

Quick question about split testing a squeeze page sorry if its a daft question to some of the experienced list builders but.. When split testing 2 squeeze pages are you essentially setting up 2 lists in aweber ?

So i set up list 1 in Aweber with my original squeeze page then..
I set up list 2 in Aweber with my slightly tweeked squeeze page

Is this correct ? Its not 2 squeeze pages going to the same list in Aweber is it ?????

Is there a guide or thread on this guys ? Dam getting a list up and running is taking me longer than i ever thought it would

Thanks Jim

    Jim,

I'm no expert on the subject, however you don't need to set up two lists. Each squeeze page has its own unique url. So your simply going to compare the performance statistics of each page. Essentially when you decide what route you take to advertise (PPC, JV, Solo ad, etc.) you create two identical ads pointing to the two separate squeeze pages. Now you can see which squeeze page converts best. Hope this helps.

Yeah it does help i`m going to use Solo ads, so its one list but the squeeze pages performance is tracked in a price of software from google which allows you to send say 100 clicks to one url and 100 clicks to the other url and it will tell you what ?? The open rate or the optin rate or both ?

      Thanks so much

    Hi Jim

Personally I use the google analytics experiments method as per this useful tutorial with screenshots (not mine i hasten to add and no need for 2 lists):

    Hey Jim,

Yeah two pages one aweber list, that'll get you up and running.

Also here is a video about the new experiments feature in analytics:

You only need to have one list in your account and then
use ad tracking or a custom field within each opt-in form.

I use a hidden custom field within the opt-in form to
      identify 'a' and 'b' groups.

More importantly, the autoresponder I use (ActiveCampaign)
allows me to split-test the autoresponder series as well as
      just the e-mail broadcasts later.

This is useful for split-testing things like e-mail frequency,
      etc.

      Dedicated to mutual success,
