Wordpress question for you experts about removing post dates

I'm thinking about removing dates from all my WordPress blog posts. Why? I'm thinking visitors will discount old posts as being out-of-date or stale. Some are six years old. I don't want to take them down as there is benefit to having all the original content on my site.

But I don't know how to remove the post dates (and not put them into current posts). If I just blank out the date and time when I post, WP automatically inserts the current date and 12 midnight as the time.

Can this be done without messing the code? (I'm not a tech wizard).

    This may require messing with the code. But if you post more regularly, maybe it would be enough to limit the number of posts per page to 1-3. This way the readers will see only the most current ones, still having access to those more "mature"

    You would have to change the code, but it's really very easy and has a very low risk to your site if you don't do it right the first time. Either PM me or post a link to your site and I'll tell you what code to change.

    Steve, here's a quick and free solution: just install WP Date Remover, and you're done. No need for coding and other stuff.

    Now your website won't display the date for any post, but will still order them chronologically.

    If you change the code then any changes made will be lost with an update.

    If the theme does not have that date remove option then use a plugin.

    The other option is to edit the dates and make them more current but still in chronological order.
