Alertpay became popular when people started having problems with PayPal coming across a little heavy handed. From my own point of view, whilst it works as a payment processor, it doesn't have the mass acceptance the PayPal does, so I don't use it very often.

I have heard of AlertPay and it is said to be better than Paypal.

They accept more countries and are not as limiting as Paypal.

    Just my 2 cents.....

Yep, i've had an AlertPay account for just under a year now.

Its another online payment processor, such as Paypal, Liberty Reserve, Perfect Money..but most like a direct, poorer descendent of Paypal.

The fees are lower and Alertpay mainly came about after the influx and mediocre success of these PTC (paid to click) sites, because of the nature of the business involved with PTC and because of the amount of chargebacks from people, Paypal went about systematically banning the majority PTC sites from having a Paypal account.

      Hence the birth of AlertPay!

Alertpay 'rules' stipulate that you MUST prove who you are.

With paypal, basically anyone from accepted countries can get an account and begin operations.

Alertpay has no restrictions on countries accepted, as they operate out of Canada, not USA.

To get money OUT of Alertpay, you must provide copies of personal identification and send them via surface mail to their Head Office.

People who cry that Alertpay is a scam have usually not done this step.

When you sign up for an Alertpay account, you will be asked for a Security Code.

You MUST WRITE IT DOWN as there is no way to retrieve it.

    Hi, kodak,

Already shopping around for the next best thing?

If you are not happy with PayPal (which you do not indicate that you are) I can understand you 'hearing about Alertpay' and wanting to investigate, but the place to do the investigation is on the Alertpay web site.

Alertpay took advantage of a marketing area that other payment processors would not handle - ponzies and matrices with no product to sell.

PayPal is regulated (by the FSA in UK, for example) - Alertpay is not.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.

Whatever it is, I suggest you stick with paypal because its much better in every way. I see alertpay as just a duplicate. sorry if I hurt any alertpay user by saying that.

And most website accept only paypal, so its wise to do business with paypal as you get more buyers!
