Hi

Should i have a squeeze page when people click on my website or not?

I use wordpress and there is a plug in that when someone clicks on my link they cant access the website unless they put their email address in, wont this increase my bounce rate? is a squeeze page off putting? :confused:

    If the content that you are offering is compelling enough, then go ahead and put a forced opt in squeeze page. you'll get high conversion rates. But if it's not the case, better put your subscription box just on the sidebar or on top over your content area in your wordpress blog.

    But either way, you should be building a mailing list to have a long lasting business. Without a subscription box, you are losing your visitors. But with a mailing list you can summon your visitors repeatedly to your site and convert it to profits.

      I could attempt to put one on the right side bar, is it a simple case of "sign up to our newsletter" plugging for wordpress?

        If that's all you have to offer then a simple sign up for newsletter will be ok. But if you can offer something of value for free, like a free ebook or a video that teaches something, then you will get more subscribers. Because nobody will sign up for a free newsletter unless it's super high quality and offering so much value.

        If you don't have an ebook, video or any special gift to offer for free, then for the time being, just put "sign up for our newsletter". Then start creating your free gift to offer to your subscribers. Once you have it, you can change the headline and may be put a ecover for your free gift for getting a better response.

    Instead of using that plugin u can use "Pop Domination 3"
    when someone come to your site an optin pops up (with offer and optin box).
    if anybody don't want it the can simply click on cancel and browse you site..

    so you get subscribers as well as keep your bounce rate low..

      I cant find Pop Domination 3 pluggin?

      I dont have anything for free at the minute like video or ebook, it is a will writing service so im not too sure what i can offer yet apart from updates and will information with a newsletter if it would be of interest to anyone.

        It would be alot easier if you were in one of the big/popular niches. However you can offer a free "Will" check sheet" designed to to arise interest for your product/services.

    No I don't think so, I just see a squeeze page as a medium of exchange. You offer something of value for their email address. I think it's a pretty good deal for everybody. I don't think people see shopping carts or credit card logos off putting so, I say just go all in with it, and offer something compelling that'll make someone want to give up their email address for.
