Email Campaign Set Up

This question is for the experts out there. I am promoting a new niche and have set up 52 emails to send to my subscriber list via an autoresponder (1 per week). The content of the email is about 500 words. The content itself does not promote any products but rather just educates the reader about the niche. The only promotion in the emails are 2 small banners for relevant products and a link to my website. I am trying to be subtle and not appear to be pushing any products. Have any of you tried this and if so what are your thoughts, ROI. Also I would like to know what size list should I have before promoting in this manner.

Kind of sounds as though you're a bit worried about the selling bit. If you don't sell anything, no one is going to buy.

Some people talk about having a ratio of 3 non-promotional emails to every one promo, but that would depend on your niche I guess. My ratio is slightly different.

All I would say is that it is possible to add value, entertain and sell, all in the same email.

Plus, I think if people know what your list is all about right off the bat, then they have something to work with. They can either leave or stay. But if you try the sneaky 'I'll butter you up gently first, then start selling' trick, well you may find a lot more people taking exception to that.

You MUST sell if you want to make money, it's really that simple. Just having banners there is not enough. You need to direct your prospect to take a specific action step. If your copy is educating them on a particular subject then you should be selling them on an product/service that will help them with their problem, and yes, they always have a problem, we all do.

Ziglar wrote a book called Timid Salesmen have skinny kids.

You don't have to go for the jugular in every sales situation
but there is nothing subtle about asking for the sale.

You want to provide value, yes, but if you don't say,
"Buy my stuff" it's very likely that they wont.

It seems that you are shy about selling, and this would
also show in your content as well. Even free content
    must have hint of selling.

I think being consistent in your emails is the way to go.

Have the same format with the same product ads in every email.

People will see that this is how your emails are and your ads wont scare them away. If anything they will buy that product between the 1-6 emails aprox.

Then if you find a product relevant with value to your list, send it out to them explaining the value it has from them. This would be separate from your content auto emails but has the same format.

For me I have 56 auto emails and send a broadcast out once every other week.

    Hope this helps.
