Do you have success with Yahoo Answers for traffic?

Yo,

Are any of you using Yahoo Answers as a legitimate source of traffic? I've bought the WSO's and my experience has been dismal at best.

I get that you can't answer 1 question and see a flood of traffic...that's not even close to what I do.

I am an expert in my niche, I provide good and helpful answers and I get "best answer" basically anytime I answer a question.

I have around 50 "best answers" at this point and I think my traffic grand total is about 8 visits.

If this is how the math works, then the guys selling WSO's must have 10,000 best answers, because it's not working for me.

Also, my niche is HUGE and has millions of people affected, and TONS of new questions being asked daily, so it's not lack of audience.

Is anyone else having better results?

Yahoo answers can be a decent source of traffic you should carefully choose niche related keywords as yahoo answers always rank in first google positions .

        Ok......

So are you saying that if I am in the golf niche, I should look for people asking questions relating to golf?

You did read my entire question right?

If you read my question, I said I am an expert in the niche I am in. That being said, I am obviously not having any trouble finding questions to answer based on keywords (pretty much Yahoo Answers 101 there).

I am not having any difficulty getting best answer either (over 50 best answers in a short time).

My trouble is that there doesn't seem to be any traffic. People always say YA is great traffic, but I wonder if they are just repeating what they've heard...or if they are answering 20 questions a day and getting 100k visits from YA per month.

I get 1000000% HOW to answer questions....what I do not get is where the traffic comes from, because I ain't finding it.

No. I didn't have much success either. I posted quite a few good answers and did get little traffic but compared to the amount of time I was spending on it, I didn't think it was worth it.

You have to look for the right questions and the people asking them.
A teenager isn't going to buy anything from you.

Look for questions in your niche that is a general question. A question the majority will ask.
So you will have more traffic in the question it self.

Answer that question the best you can and you will gain traffic from it.

I have been doing this on a new site of mine for a few weeks now and all most hit 300 visits.

    Good luck

True. I think the goal though is for the long-term traffic, not just from the person asking.

Maybe there are just too many damn questions being asked and maybe 50+ best answers just isn't enough.

Since they are easy to do, maybe I'll keep doing a few a day and see what happens.

You have to participate full time and make good contributions to enjoy some traffics but honestly i won't bother myself with this.

2011/2012 has seen a lot of decline in Yahoo Answer/ranking.

Most of the answers i see on Google are from 2008 and down which means it's not the best for traffic at this time..besides you can get ban easily and you can use your URL all times so what is the point. People who do it now do it mostly for fun.

      I answer questions 1-2 a day.

I see two ways looking at the point for this.

1.Generate targeted traffic for my niche (Alternative Energy, Renewable Energy, ext)

2.Generate targeted leads to buy my products (Solar Panels, Wind Turbines, ext)

Targeted traffic is just traffic, you have to convert them into a buyer.

A targeted lead of someone asking about a product I have. If they like my answer, I probably made a sale. And a big plus if someone searches with the keyword for that question.

This is a big part of my business. I take it pretty seriously as just one answer could be a few sales.

If you have a good reputation there you can get a few more views. But most likely it won't be a lot of traffic.

well, actually I did, but its not much, because when you've a high competitive niche, people are so much active in SEO. but you can still try, because even a small portion of success will bring you some extra money.

    • You could hire someone on Fiverr to intensify your efforts, but there's reason to believe Yahoo and Fiverr are working together to identify and remove YA cheats and you could get some of that splashed on you.

I wouldn't be shocked at that.

What bugs me is I answer my questions 100% legit. I think doing things legit in IM is just the wrong way to go...it seems to rarely work out as well as some people say it can.

I tried playing legit Blackjack at the casinos for a while...and that didn't go so well either.

Thanks all, I think I'll ditch YA! for now.

I know some SEO who've done this which I think a good source of traffic too. Your posting your URL as your answer, would it be great if you do this? Well of course in all good ways.

I've never gotten massive traffic using Yahoo answers but it has always given me a decent spike of traffic. I'd say use Yahoo answers if you're still interested in driving targeted traffic to your sites

    Yo...sup...dawg...

I don't think answer sites ever were a good source of traffic, if they were it was very brief, and anyone that tried it was probably instantly labeled forever as a spammer.

    Peace out...
