What software do you Warriors use to back up your files.
ie..Nero ? or do you use an online service.
I've been using Nero and burn a ton of CD's with
eash backup.

Please share how you do it?

Thanks,

Chuck

    Hi, Chuck,

I find the free 25Gb on SkyDrive very useful for backing up important files. I used to use CDs and DVDs until a pile of them were left near a window last summer (my office has no windows) and the heat (about 32º) destroyed them - only a few at the bottom of the stack escaped. The restriction to files of 50Mb maximum can be a problem but it hasn't affected me yet.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

An extra option for offline backups, Chuck...

External USB hard drives are pretty cheap these days (even portable 2.5" ones).
Ditch the DVDs and use 2 USB drives to make fast complete backups of your
    important partitions.

And if you use something like 'Image For Windows' (Terabyteunlimited.com) you can
also easily view and extract individual files from your backups.

Related to this, I'd also highly recommend TrueCrypt (great open source software)
    for encryption of your files.

    Best,
    Adam

I use Acronis True Image...it creates an exact Ghost Copy of your hard drive (it's even bootable from another machine)...

My laptop hard drive failed in February last year...thankfully I had everything backed up a month before.

With hard drives as cheap as they are anymore, it's nice to be able to do full or incremental backups of large drives on the cheap.

      Cheers,
      Jack

I have an external hard drive - Elements - I think it's a 500 GB. With all the photo stuff I do, I want to make sure I have a safe place for my stuff. Will be moving it off site when it's full.

Only paid about $100 a year ago.
