I am doing everything I can possibly do on Wordpress now. I tried Joomla and just didn't like it. I am even changing over my static HTML websites to Wordpress. It is very search engine friendly, it is easy to use, and it is so easy to change the design of it. I can't say enough good things about it. So I would recommend that you build everything you can with Wordpress.

I'm using Wordpress almost exclusively now, and resurrecting some old "directory generator" domains to Wordpress Ebay and Amazon affiliate sites. google loves wordpress especially if you use the right SEO plugins. If I were stuck on a desert island, i would want a computer, internet access and Wordpress.

I used to build custom made CMS driven sites , now I just use WordPress. The basic platform is extremely reliable and a good coder can turn it into almost anything you wan't it to be. Combine that with the extensive plugins and you have an incredibly easy to implement and customise platform that's coded nicely for SEO almost out of the box. Hard to beat until you have very indepth requirements. |

Wordpress is such a versatile and easy platform for building sites, I think you are going to find that most warriors have at least 1 wordpress site either free hosted or self hosted. Many have hundreds of wordpress sites. ![]() Re's Rob Whisonant |

It's invaluable. I now have HUNDREDS of wordpress sites, all self-populating, with zero hosting and domain costs, spread over a very wide range of IPs. The backlinks I get from them would cost me a fortune any other way. Hail wordpress is what I say! |

Like all of you here, I use wordpress for all my sites. When I converted my static sites to wordpress I lost my PR from 2, 3 to 0. It take me a few months to get it to PR 2 & 3. I use Wordpress because of SEO purposes. It's much friendly than static sites. |

I have to admit I hated Wordpress at first, then I took the time to learn how to use it. Now there's nothing else in the world I'd use for a blog, and for non-blog sites I'd use it for all but the simplest of minisites.

I have several wordpress blogs. They are so user friendly. On most of them, I've even changed the headers (put MY photos in), it's easy to put Google Ads in, and I've even gotten the hex code so the ads match the theme color. |

I am just starting this week to work with wordpress and I have a Lot to learn. I have done more conventional websites in the past and what I really like are all the plug-ins you can just plop right on your page. That and there are millions of themes available to choose from I do not see how you can go wrong choosing one. Well I have to get back to learning how to use the new platform. |

I'm with everyone wordpress is great I am slowly converting my static sites to wordpress now. It doesn't always go smoothly mind you, my latest changeover being a complete mess! but luckily the great team of tech's at Hostgator are onto it and will have it sorted for me in no time ![]() I currently have 20 wordpress sites and the latest theme I am using is fantastic. It is called flexibility2. It is a free theme made by Ryan Grabenstein and his support is fantastic. This is his site: http://www.flexibilitytheme.com/ and NO I am not affiliated to him Check out a couple of my sites using his felxibility2 theme here: Adsense Secret. Make money with Google Adsense. This one I used the auto colour theme picker, so it gives a nice mix on the same colour. Free money saving tips to help the budget conscious. This one I used the header background image and chose money.png. http://www.howto-howto.info This is the theme without any changes. Using this theme you can give them different looks ![]() Plugins are also a great thing. The latest plugin I have downloaded is platinum seo pack it has more features than all in one seo. Here is the download link: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugi...m-seo-pack.zip I am a wordpress FREAK and loving it ![]() Viv |

I use Wordpress exclusively to build sites, mainly because I don't have the technical skills to do otherwise. Wordpress doesn't have to look like a blog - it's dead easy to turn it into a static site.

Do any of you know of a good Directory Theme to use? I have downloaded and uploaded into my theme folder one called 'incircle' but it is minus a template so it won't activate. If you have the theme and can send me a copy that would be great or alternatively if you know of another theme that would be suitable for a Website Directory I would really appreciate knowing about it ![]() I have a domain that had a Directory loaded but a file or files stop functioning so nobody was able to add a listing to the directory. I couldn't afford the $500 I was quoted to have it repaired so I transferred the site to being a wordpress site because I had found the 'incircle' theme I thought I could use to keep it going as a website Directory but until I can get a theme to work the domain is now just an ordinary blog ![]() Look forward to some positive response to this request ![]() Sorry 'windflow' if it appears I have hi-jacked your thread! I like Wordpress because I can set sites up for people and then turn it over to them to load their content. Saves them time and money and I don't feel obligated to "just add this one little thing for free." I'm still working on that!

I build websites for a living (have done for 10 years) and in the last 4 years ... 9 out of every 10 sites I've rolled out for clients have been built on Wordpress. Sites small and large ranging from $3000 to $45,000. If you ask me ... it's not whether you should use WP. It's whether there's a good enough reason not to! - It's powerful out of the box - Has a thriving community of designer and developers that put out loads of amazing free content - Can be hacked/customized to do whatever - Can get loads of premium paid plugins - In use by mom-n-pops and Fortune 500s alike Cheers. |
