Hi Warriors,
I know some people here answered this question for paid traffic if you're having a list (autoresponder) but what if you're promoting Amazon affiliate site which has Amazon affiliate links and without an autoresponder
it is just affiliate links for different electronics amazon products

Google adwords is not good (because my adword account) was closed by Google

any ideas to try it

is Yahoo or MSN PPC worth to try it ?

Have you tried solo ads, they are a great traffic source, there are free and paid solo ads all over the net just google them up.

another idea is to rank the site. buy backlinks from fiverr. buy socila backlinks. you will not believe how fast it will rank if it is for the right keywords.

Consider using offline marketing such as newspaper/magazine ads, direct mail, telemarketing, and even face to face sales. These methods are relatively inexpensive and particularly effective for selling the more competitive (read profitable) and high-end products. To increase conversions, include a phone number in your promotions in addition to the landing page url.

Also, try to capture full contact info on your website, because (as with online through autoresponders) it does often require multiple contacts to maximize the sales closing ratio. To get an idea of what is being sold, look in the classified section of targeted newspapers and magazines, and do likewise.

This is the best answer I've seen yet. Amazon is a different animal and absolutely needs to marketed differently. If you try Adwords, MSN, Yahoo or even 7Search, your ROI will be negative... unless you are a true Jedi Master.

I used my $200 free AdCenter coupon promoting Amazon and I broke even, getting about $200 of sales.

After the free credit ran out, I paused all my ads because it seems like it's tough to get a positive ROI. I did pause some of the non performing keywords partly into the campaign.

There isn't much discussion on Amazon and PPC because

          a) Amazon don't allow direct linking, so you need to link to your site. Not necessarily a bad thing if you have a good call to action.
          b) Amazon's commisions are low.

I think it's possible to make a positive ROI but you need to have patience and build up your knowledge. I know some people use AdWords, but their policy is much more strict than other networks so you need to have less affiliate links amongst other things.

It's a shame we can't get an active thread together to discuss this in depth and share our knowledge. Relying on Google for traffic is horrible.

Many of the most successful Amazon affiliates don't rely on Google. What has worked especially well for me has been article syndication in online/offline publications, promoting to my niche lists, direct mail, press releases, display advertising in offline magazines, classified newspaper ads, radio advertising, telemarketing, and even direct sales.

Not regarding PPC, I don't think.

Why do 99% of the Amazon WSOs tout the review site/SEO method? Is it because its easier than the methods which you mentioned. What would be the first step to learning the methods you outlined? Are there any good blueprints you recommend.

There are actually many, many effective ways for promoting Amazon products. IMNSHO, SEO and PPC are the least effective methods because you are forced to work with either lower competition key words or accept low ROI. My own preference is to sell high-end products in very competitive niches, which generally are the most lucrative. These links may be helpful to you.

I've been selling Amazon and other affiliate products the same way for over 12 years, and made a fortune. My marketing model actually is rather simple in concept: establish an "authoritative presence" using article syndication, build niche lists, then recommend relevant products to subscribers within these niche lists.

This is really nothing new; what's new is 99% of the Amazon WSOs touting the comparatively wimpy review site/SEO method. This "new" model often requires endless effort to sustain profitable ranking in Google.

An excellent tutorial describing this basic marketing model which I have frequently recommended in many of my posts is this timeless classic, "Turn Your Words Into Traffic", by Jim and Dallas Edwards. Also consider reading "Brand Against the Machine: How to Build Your Brand, Cut Through the Marketing Noise, and Stand Out from the Competition" by John Morgan. Both of these book are available on Amazon.

I'm pretty new to solo ads... lets say your amazon site is reviewing generators... what sort of email list would be interested in it?

And where would you find solos... is safe swaps worth paying for?

Banner ads work great if you any good with graphics.

Try searching Google using this string - "Keyword" newsletter.

It will pull up plenty of blogs etc, email the owners asking to advertise to their list.

A client once told me about this method for his amazon site

    Go to craigslist or gumtree

Create a for sale thread advertising a product on your site for cheap
Enter your URL in the body so they click it and eventually get taken to amazon

Good source of targeted traffic - better yet if you can out source this process

Craigslist used to be a great traffic source for affiliate resellers years ago, but they have stepped up their game considerably. If the past, you only had to worry about ad "ghosting" whereby you would be the only one to see the ad.

To get around this, you simply used image ads.

Now, they check every IP address and delete your account if you post more that once or twice in a category. Also, there ads in metropolitan areas are not cheap. Ever tried to get a refund if they suspect you of breaking their TOS?

Craigslist, just like Google Adwords, should be used cautiously... and only by experts.
