How long does google take.

My webpage has been live for 2 weeks now. I check on Google webmasters tools regularly to see any changes. My site has been indexed and my keywords are showing the way I want them to but I still cant find my self on the search engine list at all. My top 3 keywords in google webmaster tools are MMO, News,Games. Any ideas or do these things just take time?

    These keywords are extremely hard to rank and your first opponent is wikipedia. I suggest you refine your main keywords related to MMO. Find any other keyword related to that..

        Then rank "MMO News" and "MMO games".. not "MMO", "news", and "games". These are totally different things.

    MMOICE if your site is brand new you will only be able to rank for keywords that have no competition at all. If you are going to focus on SEO it would be wise for you to invest in some education to learn how to rank your website.

    Even then it would be very competitive, try things that are longer tail, like new mmo games 2012 as example.

    Google will index your page sometimes within hours of coming online.

    Build up your backlinks and wait until the 30th of September when the new Google rankings come in. Its probably down to be a new site and you need to be ranked first. However, at the same Google is performing some strange behaviour in the ranking of site so i would not worry to much, its got to that point where Google is unprodectable in its actions.

      Do some keyword research to find long tail words
      Add content for those words
      Do some social marketing

      Then start some link building, do some guest posts.
      Just remember to make a diverse link profile.

      It certainly isn't the fast process that it used to be, I know that much!

    Build up backlinks from similar sites. You might also want to rethink your keywords and try out longtail ones.

    It isn't quite clear from your post, are your trying to rank...

    News
    Games

    or

    MMO
    MMO news
    MMO games


    although it can sometimes mean very little there is are an awful lot of competing pages for these terms

    "games" About 5,780,000,000
    "news" not a hope in hell of ranking for this term
    "mmo" 131,000,000 results


    "mmo games" About 99,800,000 results
    "mmo news" About 59,100,000 results


    It is going to take you months or maybe years and a lot of work to rank for any of these, you would be far better off going after longtail keywords. Back to the GKT and look for some more less competitive terms

    These one word keywords are very competitive so you have to work harder building links to your site, doing seo of your site..

    Yes, Wikipedia may be on top but if you would build links to your site then your site would come at least on the first page of Google.com
