Let me tell you a story about a man named... Well actually the truth. ![]() Has anyone else seen this strange behavior with broadcast emails to your email lists? I can send out an email that is nothing but a sales pitch and get ZERO spam complaints. I can then send out an email that is giving out nothing but valuable how to information and not try to sell anything! Guess what? I get several spam complaints. I can rinse and repeat and get the same results almost every time. Hmmmm... I don't get it... Re's Rob Whisonant |

Useful info tends to be factual - i.e. it doesn't promise the earth at the click of a button. That's not what people (particularly on a forum like this :-) want to hear. They want to hear 'pay $97 and get a million a month instantly using the bachingo-google-wizzbang-money-secret-arbitrage method'.

Its why I stopped writing a real newsletter 6 years ago, short sweet and sexy is what people respond to despite their protestations to the contrary. Its why all the big names dont bother much with content it falls on mostly deaf ears. Send out promotions in every email, and weave some marketing tips into the story, you will get better response rates and less unsubscribes. Robert |
