Correct me if I'm wrong. A lot or most of us here are experiencing domain addiction and spending hundreds to thousands of dollars in domain registration and then later on let the domains expires because we can't use them, or just regretted registering them...

I have more 37 domains now and only 12 are hosted and online, the rest are just sitting inside my namecheap account for nothing. Last year, I had 107. I sold 34 of them and let the rest were expired (waste of money).

How to avoid this problem.. before you decide to register a domain, consider the following.

The very first thing to do is to examine and analyze your inventory, then ask your self self the following question.

1. What am I going to do with this domain?
2. What type of website should I create with this domain?
3. What type of content should I put when this domain become a website?
4. Do I have the resources and capacity to run this site?
5. Do I have time to run this site?
6. Do I have time to write content for this site?
7. Does this domain have a long-term potential or just seasonal?
8. Do I have time to SEO this site?

"Potential" is the thing that always drive us to register a domain. Try not to think of this.....

... good points except that some people make a very good living from selling undeveloped domains. If you're good at picking commercial domains and marketing them, it's well worth it.

That being said, I gave up domain addiction a long time ago. Except for domains that I sell as domains only, I only register a domain when I have the actual immediate need for it. I put it to use right away.

In the beginning I did register a bunch of really crappy domains and ended up letting them expire. Taught me a good lesson both on putting the cart before the horse and what constitutes a domain worth holding onto for investment purposes.

I've done the same thing, I just sat on them and let them expire. I should just open my window and throw money out...

I have also passed this phase, I registered around 30 domains based on low competitive keywords, I created some blogs on Wordpress but I don't have time to do SEO for all.

In SEO, I see that it needs concentration, so you have to concentrate on one site for better work.
