Stripe - Paypal alternative

Hi,

I just wanted to share that if you accept credit cards on your site, I just found an alternative (or an addition) to Paypal. I have some customers who are having problems paying with Paypal because they don't want to connect their bank account with their Paypal account. As a result, Paypal doesn't always let them use their (own!) credit card. So I was looking for an additional payment method.

I just found Stripe.com. They let you accept credit cards from all over the world. They charge 2.9% + .30 per transaction. It's hard for a regular person to integrate it in their site; somehow it's made for developers. But I found a free WP plugin that makes it super easy to integrate it with Wordpress sites. It's called WP Stripe; I think this plug-in is more for donations though. There is a paid plugin that has a lot of bells and whistles and customization options for only $35. I think it's from Diglabs.

The funds are not available right away. They deposit it on a 7 day rolling basis to the bank account specified.

They are only available to businesses located in the US, though they do accept cc from all over the world.

I am not an affiliate and I have absolutely nothing to do with them. It works for me, so I thought I'll share. Their web address is stripe.com

    I suggest - https://www.2checkout.com/

It allows a variety of different payment methods and seems to be very well trusted.

Stripe is similar to Square, except that Square I think is only for certain kinds of phones (Android, maybe) and not for websites. Yes, waiting 7 days is a pain, but other cc processors hold some money "in reserve", while they don't.

Stripe is much less complicated than 2checkout. You can literally get started in, like, 15-20 minutes.

Every processor has their advantages and disadvantages.

You have many alternatives out there ,here's some best alternatives to PayPal:

-Plimus you can join for free and withdrawal procedure is flexible. Money can be withdrawn through wire transfer, check and bank transfer.

-CCNow a perfect platform for small businesses. If you have been struggling to get your merchant credit card, you should turn to CCNow

-2Checkout.com registration is free, although you have to pay a registration fee of $49. Around 5.5 percent commissions are deducted for every transaction.

-Serve.com is a product by American Express. What works in favor of Serve is its easy transaction process. it resembles Amazon Payments up to some extent. In order to operate your account, all you have to do is connect Serve with your bank account. once done, you can easily receive and send money to any part of the world

-Payoneer when you sign up with Payoneer, you receive a Master Debit card, which can be used in ATMs. The company has tied up with certain banks in each country and the respective bank ATMs can be used to draw money. You have to pay a small maintenance fee on a monthly basis. The best thing about this money transfer channel is quick and easy availability of money.

-MoneyBookers (Skrill) the fee charged is very small for every transaction.

-Liberty Reserve you have the option of anonymously transferring money to any other account. Your account number will not be revealed to the receiver.

-Google Checkout registration is free and there are many unique features. One login takes care of all your transactions

-Payza similar to paypal but less prefered by consumers .

-Square s a service created by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey which allows merchants to accept credit and debit card purchases anywhere via iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphones.

-Neteller a UK-based service regulated by the Financial Services Authority that allows users to send money or purchase items online.

    - iKobo based in the US but open internationally. Users can set up a free account with a credit card or bank account, and send payment to sellers regardless of whether or not they have an iKobo account.

    -Bitcoin

-Paymate for sellers in Australia and New Zealand

-Nochex for merchants and consumers in the UK

-Merchantinc site is compatible with eBay, there are no activation fees, and the transaction fees are reportedly lower than PayPal’s for US only

-AllPay.net for merchants and consumers in the UK

I am surprisingly happy with paypal !!

Doesn't 2checkout give people problems who market downloadable products? I was thinking about using them as a Paypal alternative.
