Please help: Somebody stole my product and is selling it!

Hi,

I've just learned that my first product that I released in May was stolen and offered for sale at JVZoo.

This page appears only a few google results after my brands name.

I have to say that I'm quite in shock here and I'm not sure what to do right now.

Any advice and help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Eddie

    Eddie,

Contact the JV Zoo help desk and give a link to your product that you sold and the one that is being sold by this other person and they will check it out.

Yes, contact JVZoo and tell them about this. You can also contact Paypal and ask them to block the thief's account. Just provide them the proof and they will help you.

      Hi Eddie,

Firstly, I'd recommend that you contact the support desk at JVZoo
to report the issue. They should be able to delete the counterfeit
product from their account pretty quickly:

Select a department - Powered by Kayako Resolve Help Desk Software (no affil.)

Then, I'd recommend contacting the hosting company of the
rogue vendor in question and issuing them with a DMCA
      notice.

You can find out who the hosting company is by using the
      following site:

Website Hosting Search Tool, Reviews & More at WhoIsHostingThis.com (no affl.)

Do a WHOIS search on their domain to see if you can get
      the registrant's details:

Whois.com - Free Whois Lookup (no affil.)

If the rogue vendor is using an autoresponder company,
then contact them too and hopefully they'll take action
      against their account.

The same goes with PayPal if you know their PayPal
      e-mail address.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

      Shaun

If they are hosting the listing on their own domain, send a DMCA to their host. You can also send a DMCA to JVZoo or use their support desk.

Thank you all, especially Shaun for the great tips...

    The matter is resolved!

I did all of the mentioned and I even tracked this person down. How stupid can one be?

He bought the product from me in May at my launch, so I have his email address in my ejunkie dashboard.

I wrote him an email asking to take down that site and youtube video (he stole my video from the sales page and uploaded it to youtube!!!).

Within 20min both pages were deleted.

    So that's that. Puh...

It was a very very unpleasant experience... to say at least. I don't need that again.

    Thanks again,
    Eddie

Shaun's advice was good and I'm so glad you managed to resolve it. Thanks for the update.

How did you discover the theft?

Yes, I reported him to JVZoo, Paypal, his hosting (in Indonesia), Google, Youtube... everywhere...

Haven't heard from any of those back yet though...

Glad you were able to get that removed. Amazing what some people will attempt. I actually had someone set up a sales page for one of my products as well. Stumbled across it, and while mad, was also puzzled. He was offering my product for 4 TIMES my price! ...thought that was quite odd. (I guess he really did believe in it, lol)

First thought that would pop in my head would be "Is he selling any at this price?"

If yes, I'd be raising my price pretty fast.
