Selling clickbank/amazon products to your list

I have just started driving traffic to my site, which is slowly increasing day by day. I'm getting some opt ins for my free report and no-one has unsubscribed...yet

However, the next step is getting people to buy affiliate products I recommend to them in an e-mail series. I could use some tips on the following..

1) Once someone has opted in, do you advertise a product on the 'welcome' or 'thankyou' page where they can also download your free report?

2) How often do you test, particularly for your subscribers buying a product? Do you do it per week, month or X number of subscribers to your list?

3) I've often heard people talking about 'buyer lists' and 'freebie seeker' lists.. What's your method for promoting products to 2 different sets of subscribers in your e-mail series?

Also, how do you move people to a new list if someone buys a product? I'm using GetResponse.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

You can definitely automate this in GetResponse.

Here's a link to the FAQ with the rules for automation - one of which is to move a subscriber after they buy.

To use automation, just login and then click on the "arrow" next to the "My Campaign" field in the upper right of the page header and then select "Automation" from the drop down list.

    Regards,

If you haven't done so, already, I'd suggest having a resource page at the end of your free report where you offer related products (with affiliate links) so that when your new subscriber downloads your free report, you have the opportunity to gain something should they click on the affiliate link and buy the product you've listed there.

Just make sure the links are to relevant items and not seemingly stuffed with miscellaneous affiliate offers.

So, if your free report is on using autoresponders, then you could list a number of free as well as premium autoresponder services in your Resources page for your subscribers to choose from.

Regarding this specific question, you don't necessarily have to give them their free download on a thank you page.

You can send them the link inside the initial, welcome email they'll receive and on the thank you page you can say something along the lines: "While you wait for your report to arrive in your inbox, check out these free offers".

Or even present them with a cheap upsell priced under $10; if you're using paid methods to build your list than having a cheap upsell in place after they subscribe is one of the methods of recouping your initial investment.

Interesting approach. I suppose there are less distractions on the page if you do this. By having a product on the same page as where they download the free report (like I'm doing) a lot of people will overlook it.

Nice post. Was wondering if it was better to use affiliate links that relate to your product? Since that is probably what interested them in the 1st place.
