Wholesalers: Would you sell to me? (application letter included).

I will be contacting some wholesalers via email from an online wholesale directory in the hope of getting access to their wholesale prices and approval as a retailer.

They are mostly based in the UK.
Below is the sample email letter i have created, any opinions would be great.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am interested in becoming a European retailer for your company.

I am fully competent in building and designing e-commerce websites, I am well-rounded in SEO and have previous experience as a seller on ebay.

I would like to know more about the products your company offers and would appreciate receiving your wholesale price list and information regarding terms and ordering policy.

If you require any further information, please feel free to contact me.

I am looking forward to a prompt response.

Yours faithfully

My name.

Any good?

    Dear Sir or Madam,
I personally think you should change this to something else.

Maybe call the company and get a little info first or figure a way to get in touch with someone. Figure out the requirements if they have a program and get in touch with the person who manages that.

Any time I see an email that says "Dear Sir or Madam", it's usually spam. I also "only" see messages like this inside my spam/junk folder.

I'm almost willing to bet that as soon as your email gets opened, the reader won't even get past the first line: "Dear Sir or Madam"...that's if it gets through the spam filter.

    ^this.

Find out who the right person to talk to is and write them a letter or simply call them. Btw your letter.... sucks. You need to tell them what you can do for them. Unless they are desperate for business, they won't care enough to send you the information you want based on that letter. They probably don't even know what SEO is. I mean come on you need to put more effort than that.

    Hi Byron,

I understand that you need a feedback regarding your letter of proposal to wholesalers.

I would recommend you to hire a copy writer or re-write it to make it more professional. If you want to save your time in writing a new one or in re-writing it, here's what I recommend you to do:

    1. Visit the 'Warriors For Hire.'
    2. Scroll all the way to the bottom.
    3. Find the 'Display Options' area.
    4. Sort the threads by selecting the prefix 'Programmer.'
    5. Hit the 'Show Threads' button.
    6. All threads that offer programming services will appear.

Touch-base with the content writing service providers.

By the way, my colleague has planned to do what you exactly want to do. Can you add us on Skype so I could recommend you to her?

When we get random letters like this, they get ignored.
    Call them.

You are also contacting wholesalers, meaning they deal with many different products and manufacturers. Your letter is written as if you are sending it to one manufacturer.

Call them first and tell them you are going to email them? I tried to make it as un-random as possible.

If you call them, you don't need to email.
Tell them you want to become a retail distributor of their products.
They're not going to care about your website building experience.
They want to know how well you actually can sell product.
