The number one way to make money online is to get the right offer in front of the right people...period. Everything else is just methods in order to achieve that goal. List building being one of them. But even with list building its the relationship with a targeted list that will generate income for you not simply building a list itself.

Well what I've been doing myself is learning as much about copywriting as I possibly can. I'm trying to intertwine my new copywriting skills with my more developed skills in web design.

So I spend quite a bit of time now making landing pages/websites for various local businesses, then we dump a ton of money into ppc. The cool part here is most my money comes from commissions on sales the company makes, rather than a fixed fee on just the ppc. This type of set up has been motivating me to make killer landing pages, to get my clients CPC as low as possible, and its essentially a results oriented set up much in opposition to how most PPC people seem to work. Like they overpromise you leads, then underperform because all they care about is getting paid their monthly fee. I've talked to so many business owners who were blowing thousands on PPC and certain months weren't getting ANY leads, so I tried to develop a system where everyone would benefit.

For me, I don't promise much of anything, but I always overdeliver. I know my monthly income will be dependent on how many leads I actually get, + commissions on sales so it makes my income entirely dependent on how effectively I work.

There are definitely some risks to this, like certain companies burning through leads w/out closing any, but my contract is set up so the better their closing rate, the lower my commissions. Likewise, the lower their closing rate, the higher my commissions. It motivates the business to fire bad salesman and in the end everyone winds up benefiting.

I realize you're looking for experienced marketers, and I am not. However I'd like to tell you that theres a wealth of information on here, and if you pick what niche of marketing excites you, then I'd dig up dirt on the forum and off on other forums and internet, to find the best of the best at that one way of marketing. When you master one, you can then move on to the next. So many shiny objects, too many clicks and jumps, and you'll find yourself just trying to tread water. Weather it'd be SEO, article, blogging, affiliate, cpa, its a no brainer for me, traffic generation. Master it, and you're good to go!

Building a list is a good way to go, pick an evergreen niche and the list will go on to keep paying you for years to come.

I just find it incredibly ironic that "MarketingAce", who is a "Youtube SEO Master", is asking such a basic question.

Building a list is the best way to make a regular online income -- mainly for 2 reasons:

1. You never have to look for traffic. When you have a list you have access to hundreds/thousands of people by simply sending an email

2. Many people will never buy what you are selling seeing it once -- it usually takes on average 5-6 times before they consider this.

Also, people buy from people they "know, like, and trust." Through email marketing if you provide them with free information, have their best interest at heart, and also show some of your personality -- you will get many many more sales.

As far as Facebook, Youtube and all concerned they are just ways to generate traffic.

What you want to do is pick 2-3 traffic strategies you think you would enjoy and master them. Combine traffic with email marketing that builds relationships = profit

I think one of the ways you'll certainly make money is this:
- Write a blog about your passion and capture leads.
- Create products and sell them to your subscribers.
- Keep on adding content and do the whole social media thing.

It will take you time but you'll have a sustainable business that will make you a lot of money eventually.
