Should I outsource marketing or not?

Hi,

I opened a deal finding website and unfortunately so far I'm not able get enough traffic to convert. Do you think it would be better for me to outsource marketing and SEO? I know just a little about SEO, and I don't want to make any mistake which would cost me to get banned by Google. I already posted on freelancer to find some individuals or companies to do SEO.

I believe outsourcing would be much better for me, because I can focus more on website than marketing. Everyday I need to search the web to find best online deals and spent too much time.

Which one would you prefer? Doing it by myself or outsourcing? Thanks a lot for your ideas.

You can... but just look at what people sell and what services they offer and try to do it yourself? find out what programs do what or do it manually.

I strongly believe... nobody can run your business as well as you can.

May I suggest to hire VA instead of hiring an SEO specialist.

    Reasons:
    Low cost
    Manual backlinking (effective)
    You can give specific instructions

Outsourcing is like cloning yourself so it's like you are still the one who works for your business. Just give detailed instructions.

Of course you can. If you can afford it, outsourcing is a great option for marketing your sites. Just make sure you pick the right company. Don't let them scam you or charge you more than what they should.

Yes you can outsource your business but before you do you want to have two crucial elements in place.

    1. A converting funnel with follow up in place. You need to be able to turn your traffic into money and without a funnel in place you will be throwing away your money for somebody to drive traffic.

    2. Traffic generation. The easiest way to drive traffic is to pay for it. If you are asking if you should outsource you should have the money to start a paid campaign. Drive targeted traffic at your funnel and track the conversions.

Once you have these components in place you can hire people from the Philippines to do the grunt work. You can get a full time worker for $350 over there who will put in 40 hours a week.

If you don't understand what you are outsourcing (example: SEO tasks) then some SEO companies may take advantage of you. On the other hand, if you do SEO yourself (although this takes time), not only will you be able to understand how to rank better and reach out to a wider audience, you would feel more confident that no one can take advantage of you if you do decide to outsource to another person or a company.

I think hiring an SEO specialist/VA is a good idea. But if you're going to focus on your website, I also suggest that you read up on structural and content on-site SEO techniques and implement those techniques. If your site has good SEO to begin with, it will make the offsite SEO efforts on your site more effective.

if you don't have much knowledge about SEO , then it is in the best interest of your business to outsource the work. Don't go for freelancers as you will get SEO services but they will not the worth of money you will be spending. you can get a good SEO here or at any other IM forums.

    • I'd outsource both the SEO and the deal-finding. Though, the deal-finding would be the most time-consuming, so, at the very least, try to tweak the model so you can outsource or automate that part. Otherwise, you've built yourself a model with a low ceiling.

      Best of Luck!
